DRSW, noone has ever gotten a custom avatar by letting the pop up banners load. That is just one of the ways to "help" SP.

You've asked the question ,"How do I get a custom avatar," so many times that I am utterly confused as to why you haven't taken the advice to go here, yet.

What to do instead of stars ....

What if you scan book covers and rank people that way ... people can advance through from Harry Potter, to Lord of the Rings, etc. Many book covers have great color and would fit in with the portrait scheme.

(Just an idea ... flame away)

 

Change is good (within reason). So avatar, portrait, and/or stars are all fine with me.

However the most disturbing thing I have read in this post is the idea to knock down the 6 month innactivity time to 2! I understand the concern and knocking it down is a good idea. But let's face it, 2 months is a bit shabby.

Three months still cuts down a rather long 6 months and still makes the policy reasonable.

No season is longer than 3 months. Some people go away for the summer, or semester. 2 months is a bit short. 3 satisfies both cases. Just a suggestion.

What I have seen so far of the portraits of NWN, they look magnificent and I would be happy to trade in my avatar, for a new good looking portrait.

Basically SlimShogun, by conducting a survey on the whole portrait thing, Taluntain is conducting market research on what will make the most members happy and as for varied opions its easy, all he has to do is group similar opinions as a group etc. For example,

With Portraits = ?
Against Portraits = ?
With Stars = ?
Against Stars = ?
With Avatars = ?
Against Avatars = ?
Mixture = ?

That is just an example but i can imagine Taluntain actually doing something simialr to that ... like i said, its just obtaining primary sources of what people want ... Businesses conduct Market research all the time ... yeah it takes time and money (too businesses) but it gives them a better overview of what the consumer wants at that period of time.

 

Tal ... you know what would be better than book covers? GEMS!!!!

Ok, we have gems, but where is logic in them? And what means 6/30? They look nice , but i prefer avatars and custom avatars only. Ok, maybe few portraits but not too many cuz it would look messy.

Ok.... but will the NWN portraits still be in as Avatar? Portraits aremuch cooler then gems

I suppose I have to buy a gembag for all those stones
