    [IMG] Hey everyone!

I just started to immerse myself in FR back in July 2003, when my dad got me Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn.

I used to study DnD back in the day (study =, following my brother n his friends, and annoy the hell out of them! :D ), and played Hack, Nethack and Moria.

I've fallen in love with Forgotten Realms, and hence, I'm kind of worried that DnD might stop making FR products, in favor of concentrating on Eberron!

I know this is a stupid question, but I don't know as much as others do, so I'm asking it anyway!

Is my fear irrational, or is FR sincerely threatened? :(

you have no need to worry as Forgotten realms is rather popular, so no need to worry as they are still making new products.

Eberron is the new kid on the block, and I have yet to see anything that makes it that special--maybe after it fleshes out a bit it will be a major player.
You notice that Greyhawk has made a recent appearance, as well--Temple of Elemental Evil--on CRPG. You'll even find some people modding Dragonlance on new platforms such as the Neverwinter toolset.
Let none of this worry you, though: Faerun, Toril, the Realms, none of these are leaving any time soon, if ever. Why? Hell, lots of reasons. Here are two related reasons:
1: A phase-out of FR would be financial suicide for P&P and CRPG alike.
2: Salvatore et al are still writing books in the series, and will likely be doing so for some time, and that generates cross-revenue--again, financial suicide if they shut down the party before the punch bowl is empty.
Bottom line, MONEY. FR is still a huge, mooing cash cow, with no end in sight to the milk.
I for one am glad of this, since I'm a big FR fan ... I can't see playing any other D&D campaign world until there's one that is so fluent, so fluid, so well-fleshed that I can really fell at home there.

Don't worry, FR isn't going anywhere. I'm sure it outsells Eberron by far, and is likely to do so in the future as well. And new FR products regularly keep coming out (see http://www.sorcerers.net/Books/index_man2.php ), so there's not even any indication that WoTC is centering any less on FR.
