Ability Draining

    OK, Chaotic Commands protects you from psionics and most charm spells, Negative Plane Protection stops Level Drain, and there are several items that simulate both effects. Is there ANY spell or device that stops Strength drain or Intelligence drain? I'm almost positive such a thing doesn't exist in ToB, but is there perhaps a mod out there that has a spell or item? Please advise.

    I think that upgraded Lilarcor from the Item Upgrade Mod gives protection from intelligence drain. It is a bit too cheesy, isn't it, though... I mean Illithid are supposed to be the most dangerous foes and one item totally makes them pushovers.

    Not sure about STR drain, but since it is only temporary inconvenience... I would not care too much.

    I would guess Crom Faeyr would protect you from strength drain since it sets your strength to 25. Potions of Genius I would guess help alleviate the intelligence drain. I never tried either of these things, so I could be wrong...

    I've never seen anything that prevents/stops strength or intelligence drain. I think Jurts hit it on the head by saying those are only temporary whereas level drain doesn't go away unless you have a restoration spell cast on you, which will restore all the lost levels, or you level up, which only puts you at the next level.

    I don't believe that Lilicor prevents intelligence drain. I'll have to pull up the file again. What might prevent it is the Psions Blade, but again I would have to look at the file again. I know that it makes you immune to any psionic attack.

    While more annoying than anything, strength and intelligence drain aren't permanent and can be done away with by resting.

    Crom Faeyr alleviates the problem, but if youare wielding it and get hit, your strength still goes down, though your chances of dying are slim. Lilarcor as it stands in the game does not protect against strength drain or intelligence drain, though as Jurts said the items mod fixes Lilarcor. The Psion's blade protects against psionics and confusion, but not Int. drain.

    Intelligence Drain -
    Not really, unless what Jurts says about Lilarcor is true. Mirror Image seems to be the only think that really helps when more than one Mind Flayer is coming after you at the same time.

    Strength Drain -
    I know this from having taken on the Wraith of Wrath and the Babau in the climax of Ascension: You can drink a potion of giant strength once and set your strength appropriate to the potion (Fire - 22, Cloud - 23, etc.) After that, strength drains stay in place even after you drink another potion of giant strength. Resting then becomes the only recourse.

    From Item Upgrade Readme:

    Lilarcor + Mind Flayer Control Circlet + 20,000 Gold

    Results in: Lilarcor +5 - Old abilities, plus immunity to INT modification.

    What's kinda funny about being stat drained, is that if you have a stat boosting weapon say like the crom fayer... you can just unequip and requip. Cheap, but effective.

    I think some general protection from negative plane should prevent any draining at all, but I might be mistaken. However, it's the only apparent way.

    Another thing is that statistic drain wears off quickly and it's never permanent contrary to level draining.
