OK, you can romance (and have a child with) Aerie if your race is human, elf, half-elf, halfling or gnome. So if you have a kid with her, some are obvious, some not.

Obviously, if you're human, you child is a half-elf. If you're elf, the child is elf.

Now what if you're a halfling? What do you have? An elf with hairy feet?

What if you're a gnome? Will your children be able to grow beards, even if they're female?

Now the last part I have another question. What if you are half-elf? Is your child still half-elf? Technically, it would be 3/4 elf. So, is half-elf a generic term for anyone who is at least part human and part elf, or do you have to be exactly half human and half elf? Anyone know?

[IMG] I don't have an answer here. However, your question made me think of another question.

    Will the baby have wings?

Half-elf is contained in <0.5;1), so your 0.75 is still a half-elf. However, your protagonist doesn't have to be fifty fifty, so the offspring might even come out as practically elven.

As far as the morbid gnome and elf thing goes it really can be a winged girl with a ginger beard, extreme fondness for whisky and a penchant for flying indoors, preferably dark caverns in rocky mountains :shake:

In the game the kid is just an icon, gets the name Quayle, has mummy's hair and daddy's something but I don't remember what and you have nothing to say about anything. Just life  :shake:

If you want to see a pic of the baby, open up Shadow Keeper and look through the misc. items list.

The description of the baby says, "This is the child of <charname> and Aerie, he seems quite qute."

If the PC is an elf, then there would probably be a good chance of the baby to have wings, but I bet Aerie would get jelous and have them removed. :p :rolling:

Another thing is if the child of a famous and loved by masses paladin would be allowed to continue his daddy's glorious and noble paladinhood if it happened to have quite pointy ears and wings :D

I seem to remember that according to the ruleset, the avariel can't have mixed blood in them. Their bodies are so finely built to allow them their flight that any mixture of more sturdy build into their genes would make them unable to fly. As I remember, if an avariel has a child with either a regular elf or a human, the race of the child would be treated as if the avariel was a regular elf. Which means, no wings.

Then again, no-one ever said a DM couldn't use his imagination to interpret the rules. A "chicken-elf"? Unable to fly, but able to use his wings for making huge jumps? ;)

    Hmm, that's a new race, avariel-come-to-achickenel.

    .. I love monday mornings.

A good amount of spelling-errors there. But I won't complain, as my info comes out of a distant memory not to be trusted in either.

Lathander help us if a half-orc/half-avariel ever emerges:p. My paladins not going to have a chance to see his child grow up anyway - i traded it for 5 rogue stones with a friend.

    Doh!

That was mainly a point about the fact that the avariel bones are hollow inside, much like with many avian creatures in real life. They get a more noticeable penalty to constitution compared to normal elves. I'm not sure how good their body frames look like. I would assume they appear fine and delicate for the eye as well. They were mentioned to be extremely beautiful though, not unlike the angels we know. :D

Doesn't Aerie have bones empty inside to lower the weight? :D

Wow... she must be really good at *gymnastics* :D ;) :p
