Best Armor for a Wizard Slayer

    Playing through with a wizard slayer and really feeling the restrictions early on, finding it hard to lower AC to an acceptable level as he is also my tank along with Minsc. What I want to know is where i can find/buy some really good armor pre chapter three?

    Plate of Balduran (AC-1, +1 Cha, +4 hp) -- purchase from Deidre.

    Red Dragon Scale (AC -1, 50% fire resistance) -- kill Firkraag and take the scales to Cromwell

    Full Plate +1 (AC 0):
    Docks District (Sea's Bounty Tavern) - Loot from Captain Dirth
    de'Arnise Keep - Loot from Lord Roenall during fighter stronghold quest
    Athkatla Sewers - Loot from thugs in north part of sewers
    Temple District (Guarded Compound) - two suits here
    Windspear Hills (Dungeon Level Two) - Loot from Tazok

    Make sure you're wearing the Helm of Balduran (bonus to AC, to hit and hit points).

    Thanks T2Bruno, where do I find Deirdre and where is the Helm of Balduran located. Also where can I find Firkragg and will i be able to take him so early in the game? I have completed only Nalia's keep and slavers quest.

    helm of Balduran is in irenicus' dungeon in a bedroom, at the start of the game

    deidre is in the adventure mart is waukeen's prominade

    You need the bonus pack merchants to get Deirdre and the Plate of Balduran.

    I'm not sure of what/who your party consists of, but firkraag is pretty tough stuff. I'd leave it for quite a while yet if you've only done those 2 quests.

    If you are still having trouble finding a decent AC, then you may want to leave Firkraag's Dungeon until you are a higher level. If you still want to go for it, he is in the Copper Coronet trying to hire you. The dungeon itself is in the Windspear Hills.

    I think I'm going to get Imoen back before I tackle Firkragg and maybe sacrifice Yoshimo and Nalia to accomodate another strong fighter. Thanks for the tips.
