What character do you guys think would be ideal to solo BG1-ToTSC-SoA-ToB? (lot of acronyms there!)

    I was thinking a Fighter/Druid.

[IMG] Why on earth druid? Fighter/thief, if anything.

I would say a Fighter/Mage/Thief, gives you plenty of freedom so you can adapt to each game.

Fighter/Druid?! Uh-uh, better to play a pure druid instead. Very fun and challenging, if you ask me (but probably not if you ask most others, I suppose  ).

Definately F/M/T. BG will be the biggest challenge for you, b/c of the level cap. After that, the F/M/T solo is the biggest, and baddest solo character you can have.

Soloing the entire serie would - even for a battlehardened addict like me - be a little too tedious.

    And why on eart a druid ??! take a fighter-thief, mage-thief or a fighter-mage-thief - and trust me - even then it's difficult enough.

If you want to do that, I suggest a cleric/theif :)

  9. I suppose a Fighter/Thief would be good because in ToB you get the Use Any Item so when you want to use spells you can cast it out of scrolls.

Do you relize how many scrolls that would be?Scrolls are nice for occasional use and times when you need an extra edge or spell but....to use scrolls the entire game?Thats a little much....

Just out of curiosity: don't you miss a lot of the game if you solo it?

And to answer the question: I think T/M is your best bet, or if you really want a challenge go with a Bard :)

  12. That way he can use Identify Scrolls and can even have his own familiar....plus, scrolls do came in very handy.

I'm currently soloing the entire saga as a normal thief. I'm in the BG1 part at the moment but, when i get to SoA i'll become a shadow thief. It rocks!

Yeah, I think I would play the game with a thief. But hey! I always do that!
But besides a thief a cleric is a good option. Plenty good spells and not a bad fighter. So if you want to play a pure character I would use a cleric.

But if you solo the entire saga, won't you have troubles in BG1 when you hit the experience cap 6 times faster than normal, and thus waste all experience until you transfer to BG2?

    [IMG] I'd go with a Swashbuckler/Mage.
    That's practically a F/M/T! (nearly)
And you don't need to spend points in Stealth because you can use invisibility (after a while).

I suggest a commoner! the easy life. Err well seriously, thief/mage! and take the swashbuckler kit when you get to SoA! very flexible, and takes the excess baggage of being an fighter/thief/mage for that slow leveling process. or Play a ranger, and take the archer kit in SoA that has grandmastery in crossbows! Your babies mom will be scared to death.

Fighter/Mage/Theif with experice cap off was all I needed. Sure with unlimited experince it's cheating, but you gotta earn it. The first part in Baldur's Gate is the hardest(8 hit points). Good luck.
