[IMG] Need help again. I´ve read in a FAQ(Sorry) that when you have finished the harper hold quest Elmnister will show up as the old man that caught the note flying in the wind. He will reveal himself to be Elmnister and you get a LOT of exp. Anyway, I have finished the Harper HolD Quest a while ago, but he doesnt show up!? Why? How long does it take?

The Harper Hold quest is more than just the Xzar and Montaron part. It's actually an overarching part that will probably take you the full game to do. You won't meet Terminisel (Anagram for Elminister) until after you've done the part with Galvarey, fought several fights against harpers, and talked with Dermin three times.

You cannot do this quest if you don't have Jaheira in your party.

Yes it is. Set the LoveTalk value on 57 and hit the rest button.

How do I change that value? Isn´t that cheating? Won´t a patch solve it?

(spoiler)When Jaheira leave your party for the second time, Terminsel will come and give you a note from Jaheira. Well, reload, before Terminsel reach you, give him some shots of magic missiles, cloudkill, whatever, and watch him use some Elminster special spells/abilities and wipe your whole party out in no time :D

Unfortnately he can never be killed, since he got his HP locked if you manage to bring him down to "near death"... oh well, guess you can't kill Elminster no matter what...

No, the patch won't solve it.

You need first to enable the console. Details on console you may read here:
    http://www25.brinkster.com/iesdp/Appendices/Cluacons.htm

Thein in console window, while the game is loaded, execute this command while your mousepointer is over Jaheira:
    CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("Lovetalk","LOCALS",57)

    Then hit rest button.

And it's not cheating. You're dealing with a bug, you're not giving yourself all stats 25, all resistances 100%, all spells in the spellbook and you're not pushing your hero to level 75686385453.

Don't feel bad about having to use the console. By setting the value, you are not missing out on anything, just advancing Jaheira's script to the next level so that she will move on and stop repeating that one line over and over again. Her romance script is notoriously buggy.

[IMG] Ok thanks guys, you´ve really helped me a lot with these things. What a nice Forum, cool design and friendly "forumites", what more could one ask fore?
    EDIT:
Ok, now I tried to use that console and typed that lovetalk stuff and then slept, about five minutes after Jaheira repeated the same line again.. (How did that last battle make you feel)
I thought it was good and that the bug was over. To test I left the game for an hour, and when I came back the damn bitch ONCE AGAIN repeated that same f*****g line!!! What should I do????

[IMG] Alright, Alighter mentioned that Terminsel has some Elminster special spells/abilities that will wipeout your entire party at once.

But when I attacked him, he used only Elminster's Eversmoking Pipe (his own chain contingency, I belive) then used regular spells followed by a seemingly limitless amount of prismatic sprays. I simply stood there with my AI disabled and accepted it all. Finally I got fed up and attacked and managed to get him Near Death. Of course, his HP is locked with Imoen's Belt,so he used the only other special spell- Elminster's Evasion, a dimension door.

So, two special spells, both of which are completely harmless.

Why won't he use anything else?

Elminster is inside BG2 just to increase selling of the game. Do I have to mention his presence in PoR:RoMD too because of the same reason? I mean, you see him, you talk to him, but no, you can't fight against him nor side a side with him (as with Drizzt)...

Besides that, Elm has his own ideas about things and he certainly knows why he didn't kill you, right? :p

[IMG] Yeah, well, I think he was just scared of me! :p
But I would at least like to know the general effect of his spells, ie. what do they actually do? What do they look like?

Actually, I really want to see so I can replicate them...
Take a look at my profession and guess why...

Take this, mortals!! Feel the wrath of Davaeorn!!! :D :D
