This is the last battle before I fight the Imprisoned One. I have beat the people that attack me from the other two keys, now it is just the one with the Beholder, Daemons, Drow cleric (at least that is what she looks like), Theif, and the "Huntress". Every time I have tryed it I get blown apart.

I have me (Bezerker, Runehammer +5, -13 AC), my fighter-theif (Sword of the Mask and The Answerer (one in each hand), -8 AC), Sarevok (Psion's Blade, -7 AC), Korgan (Axe +3, -8 AC), Viconia (Crom Faeryr, -8 AC).

I am wondering where I get the Axe of the Unyeilding. I was told it was somewhere in Watcher's Keep but I don't know where. If there are any other better weapons that I should have, please tell me.

For me this was the absolute toughest battle in all of the BG series. I doubt that better weapons will help you; you seem to have pretty good weapons as it is.

First you need to Breach both the Succubus and the Marileth because they both are protected from magic weapons and the Marileth is naturally protected from normal weapons.

The combination of all these creatures just made for an extremely tough battle. Eventually I left it to my Archer to run around with the Boots of Speed taking pot shots at them all with the Quiver of Plenty +2 as they chased him. Took quite a while.

    EXTREMELY hard battle...

I have to admit--I did it with cheese. I activated the portal with my main character, then I ran back to the anteroom to the three tests (the tests with the dragon, quasit, etc). Then I was able to lure them in one by one and kill them. some other comments:
    a. y'tossi will summone HUGE numbers of skeletons when you are in his sight.. which creates quite a distraction
    b. one of them will charm the heck out of you..
    c. the huntress has a really badass bow and can deal much damage quickly

I think this is the toughest battle in the game.....

re: the axe of the unyielding.. it is on the above level (level 4) in a chest (or on a body??) with the two minitaurs that protect the glass rod you need to get to lum (the second to last thing to do on the level)....

Well, I'll say this from my dad's point of view because I can tell you will be *extremely* annoyed if I say it was an easy battle. First of all, yes it was a tough battle. It took his 5 tries actually trying to do the *first* one. That's when I came along; but that beside the point. This is what I told my dad to do:
    A) get the main character to activate the portal.
    B) spread out your party.
    C) make your mage cast time stop and improved alacrity(or something like that).
    D) cast a series of spells to your liking. *Make sure you cast breach on the marilith.*
    E) get all your party members(scattered) to attack the nearest foe.
    F) make sure you have plenty of healing potions and enjoy!(In Cespenar's voice)

Traps can help in this battle... cast some Skull Traps or Delayed Blast fireball at the points where they all appear. Some Thief traps also.

Well I found I really needed some help in this battle. I summoned 3 morkendaiken's swords, and planetar, and an air elemental prince and placed them at the points where the creatures would spawn. Then I moved my party near the mini text quest room and had my fighter open they key. Then I concentrated all my energies on the Huntress while the others where occupied with the summoned creatures. Put at least two swords on the cleric that spawns. As soon as you can kill the huntress (tough by the way), take out the cleric as I think she will cast creeping doom, which can kill you in a hurry. This was a long battle and had some rough spots in it, but as long as you can keep it under control, you should be ok. The tough part is keeping it under control. Remember to keep powerful creatutes occupying the demons as long as possible while you break down their defences with spells.

One thing to note about the Huntress is that she seems to only shoot normal missiles. Since your main character is immune to normal weapons if you got that Tear of Bhaal, the improved Bladesinger Chain also makes the wearer immune to normal weapons, and mages can cast Protection from Normal Missiles she's not that much of a problem. She actually ran out of arrows while I was fighting and came at me with a melee weapon! :)

well.. do what they say.. but if its too hard..

try this tactic.. if you used to use Skull Trap during BG... here's another time to use it again...

for me.. i cast skull trap all over the place they spawn... its a pretty cheesy tactic but it sure lets Edwin make his biggest enemy claim as Hive Mother...

anyway... save once u put all those Skull Traps and dont put them exactly over where they spawn.. otherwise theycreatures can't spawn and ur screwed....

I can't find the axe!!! Either it is somewhere else or the game screwed up. I will have to change most of my spells to get the ones you are talking about though!

    ======

I did it! All the summoned creatures helped and I ganged up on creatures. First I killed the Huntress, than the theif-person, than the succubi, than the hive mother, than the cleric. Edwin got dire-charmed so I could not us Time Stop and all his spells, but he did not attack me. My fighter-theif died at the end from a glame strike (hey, he had creeping death on him, what do you expect?). Viconia and Edwin got level-drained, and my guy was imprisoned for most of the battle.

Now for the Imprisoned One . . .

[IMG] Hmm, I had that fight yesterday and I agree that it is really tough (demogorgon himself was way easier). The Succubus was really annoying with her level draining ability, not to mention Marilith and her immunities. The beholder was nasty. But the three down there (the dualwielder, the huntress & the mage) were just nearly invulnerable .... ouch :(

The second time I had learned my lesson and I tried it the cheasy way: I memorized all the delayed spells I had - delayed fireball, skulltrap, symbol of death/ fear/ stun etc and glyph of warding + some breach spells - and rested. Then I placed them all over the spawning area ...
With highest expectations (and a nasty laughter ready) I activated the last key
and they spawned. My traps went all off .... no one of my enemies was much more than "lightly wounded" ...

So I swichted over to melee: Minsc's mighty silversword send the souls of two of them to the abyss and Mazzy finished the last of them off with the shortsword of mask +5.
Keldorn, wearing the cloak of reflection and wielding carsomyr +5 dealt with the beholder and he had a hard stand there. My halfling cavalier used the mace of disruption on the succubus and then foebane on Marilith.

Mayrilith kept on summoning skelletons while Jaheira killed then quickly with her sling +5 w. bullets +4 (blunt damage :D ); she also provided distant healing with the rod of resurrection (I used it up in this fight and when fighting demogorgon :( ) Imoen held down her defences with breach spells.
A long but satisfying fight in the end, no losses but it was really tough and enjoyable - great fight.
