I rolled a Half Elf Cleric/Ranger with starting stats of

    18/77
    18
    18
    10
    18
    18

I was playing this guy in BGI, with the intent to give him every Tome (a book, not Tomb, a place to be buried ;) ), but he got too powerful and I gave up on him in Durlag's Tower. He was quite a force though, even moreso after casting DUHM!

I rolled a human fighter with the following stats in BG1

    18/76
    18
    18
    18
    8
    18

Since I got this roll pretty fast in my pre-game experimenting phase, I thought I could roll even better stats for him, but I never got such a roll for a human fighter again.
Did anyone get a better roll for human fighter at all ?
So I reexported him and (without XP and gear) and played the game with him.

He became a kensai/mage in BG2 with starting stats:

    19
    19
    19
    19
    11
    19

    My Assassin is cool

    Str; 11
    Dex; 18
    Con; 16
    Int; 14
    Wis; 8
    Cha; 13

I swear I didn't mean for these stats to be like Skie's. Anyway He's on though Hashashines, (part of the Nizârites cult)

    Coo!

I like to use ctrl+8 and adjust my stats to irl character stats for a character I'm representing in game from an actual P&P game. I have been known to bug out though, and hit ctrl+8 and reduce all the stats to 3, then hit ctrl+8 again and continue, just to accumulate the points... for no reason since there are max starting stats, but yea... :)

My favorite stats while rolling random came from a paladin though.

    str: 18
    dex: 18
    con: 18
    int: 10
    wis: 18
    cha: 18

Lol... It was amazing wasn't it?

Your paladins are 'awesome' stat-wise HamsterMagus and Omnigodly!

Ofelix, your assasin is cool indeed, a much balanced and realistic character than those 'perfect' paladins. :shake: (no offense intended to any paladin players!)

Paladins have the clear advantage of two stats being automatically 18 or 13, so it's easy to get awesome stats haha.

I've played through a gamewith stats as follows though:

    str 16
    dex 10
    con 14
    int 10
    wis 8
    cha 12

This would be a fighter btw. I know I could adjust it or roll better, but I only felt like rolling the one time.

But it looks weak for a fighter, no DEX or CON modifiers and a not so great STR, not even 18/01. Did you beat the game with him? Congratulations then!

Yes, and the game wasn't hard at all on Core Rules difficulty. The fact is playing the game is only difficult based on your strategy and ability to build a character. Not so much how overpowered he is.

The highest roll I ever got was as followed....

    Str: 18/10
    Dex 19
    Con 17
    Int 18
    Wis 15
    Cha 18

It was a Elf Fighter/Thief who was lost when my old computer system went haywire from Windows ME.

The last character I was playing (Abdel) before I built my new PC is going to be download to my new Hard drive tonight. His stats are as followed....

    Str 18/6x
    Dex 18
    Con 18
    Int 18
    Wis 16
    Cha 10

He is going to be duel to a mage if BG2 lets me. I am still in BG1 trying to complete it. I just finished the bandit camp, if I remember correctly, and will be heading out towards the Cloakwood mines. Actually I believe I have a 19 con from the Tome of manual health.

heh, started, but didn't finish, a solo (core) using a LE cleric named Reginald the Pathetic:

    S 3
    D 3
    C 3
    I 3
    W 9
    Ch 3

actually, gave up once I found enough items to make it a standard solo:

S 18 (mauler's arm, plans later for CF...)
    D 18 (girdle)
    C 18 (girdle: use once/day and replace)
I 3 (tho with a collection of genius potions when I wanted to use scrolls or wands)
W 9 (though with a collection insight potions)
    Ch 18 (human inf ring)

though melee skills were still only backups to 1) avoiding battles using Sanctuary, and 2) hiding behind meat shields...

My favourite char was Achak, a druid (avenger in part 2)
    Ste: 16
    Dex: 18
    Con: 6 (yup, that's a six, not a typo)
    Int: 12
    Wis: 18
    Cha: 18

Now these stats I might have to explain, I took a low con because of roleplay reasons. I read this awasome fantasy novel about indians (the native american ones), which was especially focused on shamans (I had a fascination for those guys a long time). These shamans were kind of like healers and seers, but to activate their powers they had to use certain poisons, to 'atune to the spirits (read, get high). Because of that their physical health suffers a lot. high cha and wis seems logical sine shamans are usually advisors, or leaders. and I still had points left, hence the dex and ste. (now you might argue that a totemic druid seems more logical, and you're probably right. I figured that out a bit late i guess.

Actually Shape Shifting was not an uncommon native american Belief so an Avenger could fit into that nicely.

Bion, that 'pathetic' cleric is a perfect idea! I really wanna try something like that someday! Did you think he was capable of finishing the game?

@ Starwalker: But then I should have sooner gone for the shapeshifter. I mean, as far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong here) but werewolfs resemble the image I have of native american legends like the Wendigo. Either way, I really enjoyed playing a character with an (as far as I know) uncommon weakness. At least it was a lot more fun than playing a 'generic' fighter/thief or other more powerful class. I tend to make characters with a weakness they have to overcome somehow.

Come to think of it, I've just installed TuTu (what the hell does that stand for anyway?), and I'm planning on rebuilding this Char, to see if he's up for the challenge. Usind Divine remix as well, so this might be interesting. Can i import a level 1 Druid into tutu to make him a level 1 druid Kit?

TuTu stands for 'To two'. Say it a few times and you'll get it.

I tried an 8/8/8/8/8/8, on the grounds that it is just a normal person. If you don't use stat-enhancing items, things get quite interesting.

I didn't know normal people had 8 in all stats in 2nd ed. I play 3rd ed myself (So what if I'm a heretic) and normal stats are 10 on physical and 11 in others, there.

Umm in 3E nırmal people have 10 in stats as it is a neutral number without pros or cons. In 2E, they have 8-9 , maybe 10 this does not matter much. When I check monsters and commoners with SK, they have 9 in most stats. In 2E, monsters do not have ability scores except INT generally, unless they have a huge STR which will affect their attack. SO I guess BG2 makers put some interesting stats for the monster's top priority scores and gave the rest all 9s. Who needs the CHA score of a mustard jelly anyway?

BTW, Cantlos is a heretic! Let's burn him/her on the stake! :shake:

No, 2e would also be 10's & 11's for normal people (though BG2 puts 'un-important' stats at 9 for people and such). It's mid-range (halfway between 3 & 18), and causes no bonuses or penalties. Plus, ability checks on a 10 are 50-50.

    @angryguy:
How did you get a character with all 8's? You need at least a 9 somewhere to get a class.
