I didn't see a topic about this yet and I have some questions about the immunities of golems.

They all seem to have some immunities, but I only know that the Clay Golem has to be hit with blunt weapons (don't even know if they have to be magical).
So right now my standard strategy for fighting golems is: bash then with the weapons of the highest enchantment I have, preferably blunt.

I would really like to know what the resistances and immunities for all the golems are (Clay, Stone, Iron, Sand, Flesh, Juggernaut, Adamantite, Brain, I can't think of any more right now).
Does anyone know what they're immune to (and maybe even what their resistances are, as it seems the Adamantite golem can only be hit with +5 weapons, but still is like 90% resistant..)?

There are also magic golems. Actually, there is not much to worry about them. So long as you use your current best enchanted blunt weapons, most golems will fall. Except for magic golems, they require non-magical weapons to hit. As for adamantite golems, they can be injured with Gesen shortbow which is consider a +4 weapon. But I believe that +3 weapons will do although I'm not too sure.

Slashin +3 does not work. Tried to take on one with Celestial Fury, though he did not do any damage. Killed him with a +4 staff, tho it's possible that blunt +3 works.

All +3 slash work. Lilacor will work.

Clay-immune to normal weapons, slashing, and piercing weapons

    Stone-requires magical weapons to hit

    Iron-+2 or better to hit

    Sand-same as stone

    Flesh-requires magical weapons

Juggernaut-I think +5 or +3 weapons to hit as well as 90% resistance to all damage.

Adamantite-+3 or better as well as 90% resistance to all damage

    Brain-same as clay

Oh, and while not directly asked, all golems are 100% resistant to magic.

If you are curious to the exact resistance values, download Shadowkeeper.

SK may show their resistances (Fire, Magic, Slashing, etc.) but not their weapon and other immunities. That's why I asked (that and the fact I didn't really looked at SK for this :) )

Creature Editor will show all resistances.

    Cheesy Trick:
Lower Resistance will make golems vulnerable to magic.

Doesn't the Rod of Smiting destroy golems regardless of immunities? I've never tried it on a magic golem, now that I think about it, but I have used it on other golem types successfully.

If you're planning to kill a Magic golem just equip a non magical weapon and it dies like a badger on a freeway...

If you are prepared for a golem, you should be fine. If you are not and they surprise you, they can be a really tough fight -- I especially hate all the golems in Firkraag's dungeon -- those guys really make me mad. I don't mind Clay golems too much -- if everyone surrounds him with a magic blunt weapon, you should be fine. But those Adamantine ones! They are a real strain on my party.

thats why its important to plan what you must do.
do de'arnise keep before firkraag and planar sphere to get flail of ages and you should have no problems with any golems.

also, be sure one of your mages have melfs minute meteors in his\hers arsenal.

To get rid of the big golems (adamantite, iron and so..) go at the other side of a door where the golem can't go through, take Minsc or whoever character with a two handed sword or polearm and attack him. Your weapon is so long that you can hit him but the golem can't reach you (neither with the poison fog).

Just imagine the golem trying to catch you with his arm like a cat trying to get a mouse at the other side of the wall inserting her pawn in a hole. (Keep oooout, you filthy!!)

Ah, and Lilarcor (+3) was wonderful in d'Arnise Stronghold. Another thing, spears, strangely enough, are too short and you get your ass kicked.

Generally, if the entire party is attacking a Golem, the first character to get close to the golem will be the one to get attacked. If that character is protected by stoneskin or ironskin, then your other party members will have plenty of time to dispose of the golem.

[IMG] The thing I hate about clay golems is that I prepare for facing them by always caring magic blunt items even though i otherwise dont use them. This takes up equipment slots .

Put them in your quick-weapon slots. Seriously, how many weapons do you need?
