For some reason I've never been able to start a multiplayer. When I try everything just freezes and I have to reset my computer. This happens right after the thing where it asks for the session name, password character name etc.

Do you want to start a multiplayer game on your own or real multiplayer?

If you want to play on your own try setting the protocol to serial instead of TCP/IP or IPX

  3. Try setting it to serial like StressedE said.

BTW, I dont think it was frozen, I believe it was trying to connect to someone elses game, might be wrong, but I had the same problem trying to figure out which worked.

TCP/IP can give problems if you have no internet connection available (because the game tries to connect which is not possible), besides opening a TCP/IP connection is an extra possible way for hackers to break into your computer
