The romance will continue after the resurrection.

    It will?

Is there any reason why I keep hearing it won't, then? *eyebrow*

Extremist, you wrote the book on this. Literally. :) If it isn't too much trouble, could you enlighten a newbie as to what exactly, aside from the dialogues themselves, screws over a romance plot?

[IMG] This brings to mind something I keep meaning to ask; if your main squeeze gets turned into stone and you thus have to ask them to rejoin the party after casting stone to flesh on them, does this count as you having chucked them out and as such bugger the romance up? This would apply mostly to Jaheira.

[IMG] I'm not sure on all of this (mostly because I was lawful evil and saw fit to slaughter all the NPC's before they had a chance to smooch me) but when turned to stone NPCs go blue and untalktoable, and when turned back they automatically rejoin.

generally romances are triggered by several things:

-*events* (In jaheira's case: the harper and ployer quests)
-*dialogue choices* (no further comment  )
-*game time* (for some dialogues there is a "game-time" trigger, means 1 day or so in the game)
-*real time* (dialogues regularly pop up after a while of gaming, depending on "gaming time", after about an hour for example)

as for continuing romances after resurrection: Extremist *is* right here, shadowdancer: If your love interest dies or Bohdi takes him/her, the resurrection will not affect the romance. The only thing may be that when the romance is finished already, there won't be any progress after that (for some obvious reason)

I'm pretty sure that if Jaheria is turned to stone and you turn her back it ends the romance and she leaves the party as if you kicked her out. Happened to me in the underdark(beholder), which was a blessing in disguise since I could wear drow plate outside of the underdark.

    No no and no!

If Jaheira was stoned and gone and you had a romance going on with her - it won't be broken! Why? Because of a bug. It could be broken if you started a romance with another chick or if you slept with Phaere and chose wrong dialogs afterwards.

    Ok, to above question:
    Besides dialogs, romances break if:

    1. you kick Jaheira out of your party (not true if she goes away by herself).
    2. you kick out Anomen, Aerie or Viccy out of your party and they wait more than THREE ingame days to rejoin.
    3. you sleep with Phaere, Aerie instantly stops the romance and Jaheira stops the romance if you don't find a good excuse for it.
    4. If your NPC you have a romance with is killed beyond resurrection - this means NPC got so much damage that teared NPC apart and his/her portrait disappeared from right panel.

The point 4 was the thing most people never read in detail so they think that NPC you're romancing mustn't die at all cost. NPC can die, but not beyond resurrection as I said above.

[IMG] You'll not 'see', you'll know and hear from themselves.
Just as in real life, funny isn't it.;)

I found that when my NPCs died, all I had to do is whip out my rod of resurrection and *poof*, good as new! However, one person I could not resurrect was keldorn, after his portrait was grey (showing death) and his hitpoints were "-10/128". Anyone know what's going on?
    Who needs romance when you're a demi-god?
It's kindof interesting how all of the possible female romances are elves, no? (Arie=elf, Jaheira=half-elf, Viconia=drow elf)

On most difficulty settings (Normal and above I think) if a character receives enough damage to reduce them to -10 or below they are "chuncked" and irrecoverable.
