Watcher's Keep level 2 ice room key? help?

    I read a small walkthrough about level 2 in am earlier post. It seems helpful but I can't find the key, or anything, to open the east door to the ice room. I have turned on the fan in the air room, found the poison head for the flair of the ages in the slime pool in the center of the room, and have searched all of the libraries. Both doors to the ice room are locked and can't be picked. Please help me with the key because I am stuck!!!

    Kill the snake-like thing in the Poison room for the Poison scepter. Then look in the Green room on the far right corner bookshelf for a key. That should clear up any issues you have.

    Should I assume that the "green room" is the one with slime pit in the middle? If that's the case, I can't believe that I could have missed the shelf that contains the key.

    I have already killed the snake, maybe the scepter is on the ground.
