Imoen's Bhaalspawn essence - some idle speculation

    It's a fair assumption that the reason the game ends when the protagonist dies is that your Bhaalspawn essence will be lost, so even if you get raised by another party member, Melissan will have control of your immortal soul and you won't be able to fight against her evil plans.
    But what about Imoen? She can die and be raised many times, and still have Bhaalspawn essence, as shown by her dialogues with Sarevok, and with the Solar after Melissan has died. Is this a missing check in the program, or something deeper?

    the game explains that she have a very little part of the bhaal essence but in my opinion she should still desintigrate(sp)

    [​IMG] I think it mostly has to due with the fact that you are the main character ... not Iomen.

    This fits in with the Captain America principle, which simply states that Capt. can beat any bad guy (from the Red Skull to the Hulk) if and only if it is in his own comic.

    Are you quoting, Marvel 1964?

    Good piece.

    I think it would have been cooler, if somehow Imoen, became the incarnation of Bhaal at the end, and you had to fight her. Plus, this essence thing is a little too "Highlander" in my opinion.

    I am not sure if you can get too Highlander, but thats my take here.

    Actually, I had the game end when Imoen was killed...once. But:

    a) It was in SoA.
    b) I was fighting a spellcaster, so it's possible that the protagonist got disintegrated or something and I didn't notice.

    Idle speculation, again. *shrug*
