    I plan on the following party for SoA:
    F/T
    Tashia
    Anomen
    Keldorn
    Jaheira
    Minsc

    Once I get thru SoA and into ToB, I want to pick up Sarevok...and I'm thinking of dropping Anomen for my misguided brother.

    I'd like some opinions on the feasibility of it. My thinking is by that time, Jaheira will have a fair number of spells so a few can be devoted to healing and if I recall correctly, both Jaheira and Keldorn should have summonings that also have healing abilities.

    Go for it. IMHO, Anomen's a freak anyway. A really powerful freak by the end of TOB, but a freak none the less. Like you said, for healing, Jaheira will be good enough. The only thing you'll really miss is Resurection, but Jaheira has Harper's Call, and you can get several Rods of resurection.

    Actually, on second thought, I'd actually drop Minsc. I know, I know, everyone loves him, but aside from his personality, Sarevok will give you everything Minsc does, plus Deathbringer Assault. Keldorn is worth keeping so that someone using Caromsyr or Purifier, and Jaheira is a more then capable front-line fighter who can not only handle healing, but also offensive AND defensive magic.

    edit: Do Paladins get summonings as HLAs? It's been a while since I've taken a pally through.

    Personally, I'd keep Anomen and drop Minsc. Here's how I look at it:

    -both Minsc and Sarevok are primarily used as pure tanks;
    -they use similar weapons (unless you built Minsc differently);
    -Minsc's spells and rage ability are negligible;
    -Sarevok's deathbringer assault is unmatched;
    -they both have the same HLAs;
    -in (almost) all respects, Sarevok is like a more powerful Minsc;
    -even Anomen is a better tank than Minsc in ToB.

    I'd also add that Minsc is the most annoying piece of **** ever, but that's just me.

    Of course, the above assumes you're powergaming. If you're roleplaying, then by all means drop whoever you want. But even then I'd drop Minsc, because he's the most likely to accept your decision without feeling rejected :p

    To be fair (and to answer your question directly), you don't technically need a cleric, so you should do fine either way.

    [Edit: damn, Kam's too fast]

    Was considering building Minsc to use Axe of Unyielding and Flail of Ages dual, since none others in my party can use the axe....its too good to waste. I could sub in Mazzy to use the axe I guess. I don't normally use Minsc, so thought I would be a little different than normal.

    Paladins get fighter HLAs plus some clerical ones (if not all, I don't remember exactly). They can summon devas. However, I think you're better off with more Endurance or Greater Whirlwind uses.

    Planetars are tougher than devas, I think, and they certainly have more spells. They have three casts of Heal, so they last almost three times their HP if you handle them properly. Planetars are summoned by mages.

    The Force is strong with Keldorn. Defences nuke down and kick ass with Karsomyr, he can.

    :shake: :lol: :tie:

    Padawan Anomen, let the Force be with you while you cleanse my shoes from the stain of the Dark Side :shake: :lol: :p

    what ever kind of party you choose you should definitely have Seravok in it. he is by far the best NPC fighter and there are plenty of powerful two handed swords out there for him to use. :D

    Well, you can replace Minsc with his Axe of the Unyielding and put in Sarevok with the improved ravager. He becomes a beast.
