    [IMG] All battles are SO easy!!! The only battle I had to reload several times was the one with the Demonic Knights!! ( I am refering to battles at SoA,I haven't played much of ToB yet).
    Even Kangaxx can be defeated if you spent about 600gp to buy a Protection from Magic Scroll...
    And he has one of the most valuable items in the game (ring of protection +2 combined with a enchanted ring of Regeneration and some immunities!!! + magic resistance!)...I mean as a Demi-lich he doesn't cast any serious spells such Mordy Sword, Protection from magic,absolute immunity etc....
    That's for Kangaxx.!!! :)
    Dragons are also pathetic...They use their breath weapon only once and cast only stoneskin and haste. Instead they could cast several times Spell Immunity(the Dispel Magic School) or even Spell Shield !!!
    I mean they are DRAGONS,the most fearful and respectable creatures throughout the Realms...
    Oh,whatever :roll:
    Random encounters are also of a very low challenge rating (face muggers at level 19??? God!!!)
    Finally for the other encounters the only thing that is offend required is a dispell magic,a true Seeing and a haste!!!sometimes chatic commands beforehand.
    But I forgot!!!! The EASIEST thing in the whole game is the battle for obtaining the.... CLOAK OF MIRRORING....The most powerful defensive item in the game and u can have it with so little effort...What can I say...?

    I hope Baldur's Gate 3 would be more...challenging,if it comes out...

    Thanks for hearing me!!! :wave:
    And sorry if I was like :pope:

    And you can always slide the difficulty bar up to the max. Not to mention not use cheesy exploits...

    Or you can play a no reloads game. It's the only way I play these days... (with Tactics on Insane)

    That gives another dimension to this great game. Also play without cheesy tactics or items (Shield of Balduran, Cloak of Mirroring, ...), wands, ...

    Don't attack from fog of war...

    Don't send summons to lure out lich's attacks. Buff your own PC or NPC and fight it out...

    Install Improved Ilyich and try to kill all of them without dying... :)

    Install Improved Irenicus and witness the mother of SOA fights...

    Install Ascension in TOB and witness the MOTHER of all fights... :D

    Or you can create Charname with only one roll... think about playing a wizard with 9 INT? Could be fun...

    Maybe try new party combinations or soloing the game.

    Or some other challenges: e.g. no spellcasters or no magic at all! :)

    Remember cheese is no fun ;)

    Don't listen to them: Tactics takes it overboard and quality-wise it's pretty poor. Sadly, there isn't a good, reasonable mod to increase the difficulty, so all you can do is slide the difficulty bar to max. (Which, by the way, won't make a slightest difference if you know the game like your own pockets.) Time to move on and find a new RPG game. ;)

    I agree with Wirhe. Tactics is insane.
    The mod makes your enemies a whole lot harder via, in roleplaying gamer terms, "cheese". I can't find a decent explanation for some of the changes, and although I appreciate the changes that are based on the reality of the game, it begs the question: Why can't my characters do the same? If a LvL 8 enemy mage can cast an average of 5 defensive spells in the recordbreaking time of 1 second, why can't my characters? :p

    Honestly, it's a powergamer's dream come true - I can finally use the more "overpowered" tactics and combos that will never find much appreciation in unmodded BG2. It takes away the roleplaying element, though - and makes you feel that the game is all about battles and getting stronger. In short it makes BG2 an effective Icewind Dale 2. This is sad since battles and getting stronger are only part of the reason I play RPG's.
    It's a great mod to try out, and as long as you're not into anything like the story of the game and the "reality" associated with BG2 you should be fine.

    Hey Donkey , if its so easy. You could try and use weaker classes , and weaker party member`s. Plus boost the difficulty.

    I believe Tactics mode is just very fun!I know enemies cheese a lot,but if I want a challenging game after finishing the game a couple of times.Plus some enemies are so cool in Tactics!I believed that Bodhi sucks in BG2,she is not a real challenge if you are prepared,she is a rather weak fighter who does not even drink healing potions.But in tactics,she is awesome,has a lot of extra powerfull abilities that suits her like an elder vampire,and even my very high level party had shivers and reloaded a lot!And this was only the very first fight!I haven't faced improved Irenicus yet,though I heard he is awesome indeed!The best thing that happened to me in Tactics,I faced two liches,they unleashed chain contingencies with horrid wiltings and chain lightnings,killing my entire party in a blink!Boy,you have to try it if you think the game is so easy for your standarts.Try it!

    Ugh, I have played BG-2 so *often* that I get bored by just thinking about it.

    I now play the game with maximum efficiency, reducing needed time significantly as I already know what to find where, and where to report and where I have to fight whom how. As a result of that, I never play long - I get bored quickly. Despite having not played it for a year or so, I still know all quests by heart, and the quality of fighting after mods can't change that a bit.

    Everything short of an all-out story-mod can't change that.

    Well, as you think the game is too easy for you, try out playing with just three or four characters. I used that to add some challenge. Try out some exotic party: Like a mage, a cleric, a druid and a bard, or thief. And then, there still is the difficulty slider.

    If that doesn't work: Play IWD or IWD-2.

    Spell Immunity: Abjuration always bothered me. In theory, it should neutralise all abjuration effects on the target as well. In practice, however, and combined with SI: Divination, basic protection spells and Improved Invisibility, it turns a mage into an untouchable juggernaught.

    Try installing the Super-Firkraag mod and then tell me he's too easy.

    Better yet: try soloing TOB-Ascension with a non-spellcaster. Heck, even a monk should do. Just put in the main mod component, don't worry about the "Tougher Critter" parts. Oh, except Improved Demogorgon... give that a shot (evil grin).

    @ Silverstar: I've said it before, and I'll say it again - your best bet against Improved Bodhi in Round One is to keep running. She's too easy unmodded, but let's consider her range of powers:

    1. a super Creeping Doom that ignores MR;
    2. Abi-Dalzim's Horrid Wilting;
    3. Death Spell (this I'm fine with);
    4. permanent untouchable Fire Shield: Blue;
    5. a more potent version of Greater Command, the Final Sleep (again, I'm fine with this);
    6. control undead ability (fantastic addition);
    7. vampire fear (again, should always have been there);
    8. second wind ability (would be fine without all the rest of the cheese); and
    9. apparent immunity to anti-undead spells and equipment (the IMoD at least makes sense, but powerful or not, a vampire is still a vampire)

    Oh, and all her original powers too, plus a goon squad. I enjoy aspects of Tactics, and I think Wes Weimer's contributions to BG2 have been of considerable benefit to players and modders, but I feel it's overkill and turns the game into a hackfest, not a better RPG. Bodhi with Greater Werewolf-style regeneration, more HP, better attacks, and a couple of those powers is more realistic and tougher. If she threw out a level-40 Remove Magic at the start to strip Negative Plane Protection and other spell protections, I'd be fine with it as well. But as it stands, it's either too high or too low, and neither is all that enjoyable for me.

    to NonSequitur;

    yeah, I have witnessed all of her new powers and she is what she is supposed to be. I mean, she is a boss and very charismatic and horrific one indeed. I was very stressed when I first met her in the final fight, I thought it will be very hard!

    But, my PC,protected by amulet of power, mirror image, and stoneskin, killed her without a scratch! Nalia and Imoen casted lover resistance a few times, I casted greater malison to make it hot, Jaheira added a doom spell to make it even hotter, and I let a nasty Disintegrate spell and to my suprise she was reduced into dust! Was that all of an elder vampire(sort of) that terrorized the GREAT shadowthieves? BOY,I was dissapointed cos I like hard boss battles more than anything else!

    However, in tactics, she is so awesome! All her abilities suit her very well, and she is so smart! They even added her extra and very cool conservation,bearing the fact that she is so special and strong. She put all of my party into sleep except poor Aerie (just how powerfull that Final sleep?) Then she immediately rushed into Aerie to kill! So Aerie hasted herself and began a maraton in the catacombs with a thirsty and cool-looking Bodhy right after her! Boy, how many rounds that sleep last? We were never able to wake up! Aerie's haste was gone and she was helpless, we were STILL asleep so I had to load....

    I haven't faced improved Irenicus or others yet, and I am SCARED.(I am playing in insane, no I am not a mazoschist.) I have beaten the game before yet I am scared of Irenicus! This means tactics mode is very good for those who believe it is too easy!
