[IMG] Well, I've got another newbie question...

in regards to spell combinations, I've heard alot of talk on the effectiveness of spells and how that fighter/mages casting on themselves before combat can be very powerful etc....

however, looking at this MASSIVE list of spells, I'm having a helluva time deciding what combinations to use before combat/during combat.

For example, what spells should I throw into the sequencer etc?

I take it casting an offensive & defensive spell on yourself (armor+strength) before battle for a fighter/mage

or should I do a defense, offense, fireball combo?

    I dunno...

suggestions? I'm sure there's a zillion of you that have your favorite combos....

  2. [IMG] I never used the big sequencer for defensive spells. If I did, it would be defensive harmony, chant, protection from evil--that would be to guard against getting creamed by Vampires (ohhh, I hate them.)

One way I use big sequencer is to neutralize mages and harm the party around him. I do this through this combo--

    deaf
    silence
    slow

I also use it to do quick damage to a lower level but high-numbers party with

    web
    fireball
    fireball

    and

    web
    slow
    ice storm

The problem is in the upper levels, so many enemies are magic resistant. Defensive spells become more and more important as the game goes on, because at least you know they'll work!

With the minor sequencer, I use

    acid arrow
    acid arrow

    or

    chromatic orb
    chromatic orb

    or

    magic miss
    magic miss

or some mix of arrow and acid.

This is to eliminate any enemies that get behind the lines and attempt to disrupt casting.

I found that a mage/cleric can have the most fun with the sequencers, as you can borrow spells from both classes and put them in one blast.

I still feel like a novice; I've only finished the game once.
