i know this maybe a fool question for veteran Ad&d player, but i really don't understand how saving throws work...i (meant if i(player) have saving throws vs spell 11 (-2), and my npc 9 (-2), which one who'll be harder to get by the spell (for instence web spell)? is this related to h20d? is the lower saving throws better then higher saving throws? will 3rd ad&d role use this saving throws?

    thank's

[IMG] No worries. It's been awhile since the paper and dice games but i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong but saving throws are based on a 20 sided die, the lower your score the better, therefore 11(-2) means that if you 'roll' 9 or below the spell hits you for full affect, 10 or higher and you save against the spell, the (-2) is due to some magical or stat? adjustment.

  3. I don't play D&D either, but I think the number in brackets represnts any modifiers that effect the throw from magical items or spells etc.

Who really gives a shit! If it hits, it hits, and if it doesn't, it doesn't.
