Robbing Aran for Boots

I beg of you!! Anyone knows how should one loot that damn Aran Linvail for those damn Boots of Speed! I'm too slow from my birth

I don't think there is a way for looting them off him. You should go to the Planar Prison instead...

 

Go to the basement of the Five Flagons Inn in the bridge district. There you'll get a quest that will lead you to the planar prison where the Boots of Speed are.

 

Renal bloodscalp has one pair too.

Did anyone snatch them without having Arkanis behind your back and all shadow thieves hostile?

 

I don't think the game will let you kill Aran Linvale unless you've sided with Bohdi. It makes sense, in that if you did so you'd be stuck with no way to Spellhold. If you've sided with Bohdi, though, killing Aran and all the rest of the thieves is easy (though I'm not sure what that'll do for any Paldins or Rangers you have in your group.)

 

Aran Linvail is a master thief. It seems highly unlikely that someone is going to come along and steal the boots from off his feet without him noticing.

There's no way to do it without siding with Bodhi.

Keldorn will leave, Minsc and Valygar both stay. It's poor roleplaying if you're a good party, however.

 

But, please, how my party, despite the al, can acquire those from Aran? i beg of you, please free us!
But once i sided with Bodhi all in thieves guild disappear, and if not sided then - "target (Aran) has no valid items" or Arcanis backstabbs me to death. Though, as i remember before ToB release i played once and somehow got those damn boots ('t was 'bout 2 years ago) Sob...Helpme!!!!

It's probably your best move to forget about Mr. Linvail and Mr. Bloodscalp and see if Ms. Shai can hook you up with a pair of the Boots you want. I haven't heard of anyone managing to be able to pickpocket Mr. Linvail or Mr. Bloodscalp and get away with it. If you're really desperate, you can always just use the CLUA Console and hack in the Boots. Just pretend you stole them.

You can get those boots from the Planar Prison and in SpellHold at the token machine (15).

Maybe more places? I'm not done yet...

I've heard from a previous thread that if you have Mazzy in your party you can aquire the Boots of Speed from the barkeeper in the Five Flagons inn. Never tried it myself though....

 

You cant steal anything that is equipped...mainly boots on one's feet.

You get the boots of stealth (+15 hide in shadows)from him with Mazzy. An infinite amount because you get a pair almost every time you talk to him. Another bug...

 

Sorry, I didn't read this before answering your PM. Do you mean that the thieves themselves disappear or that all the items disappear. Either way, that's a wierd bug. That's the only way I know of to get the boots, but I don't remember if he actually drops them.

Aces, there are no other places to get the boots.
