[IMG] Hi there everyone. Some of the older members might remember me, if not, that's cool.

Im thinking of getting back into Baldur's Gate 2 SoA & ToB and some of the various mods fans made for these wonderful games. (Im particularly interested in the Bard mod) Am I correct in assuming I can find the necessary patches on this site? I just want to make sure since it's been a loooong time since I played this game. (close to 2 yrs I think?)

SP has a long list of mods, but has suspended adding new entries. By "the Bard mod" I presume you mean Keto, which you can find at http://www.pocketplane.net/keto

    thanks Kelv!

JComp, I remember you from the TeamBG's irc room. I was Crusader, remember? btw, thanks for the point in the right direction for files. So I guess I dont have to google BG2 SoA & ToB patches.. I can just hunt for them here.
By the Bard mod, I meant the Bard Stronghold one but this one also looks damn interesting

Hey there Caleb! How are you?

I really like the new look of the page. Hats off to the administrators.

I was in Japan for a year & a half working on some photoshop projects for Konami and I really enjoyed my stay there. Nothing like NY at all. They REALLY like americans there. They also love non-cacausians as well which kinda surprised me a bit (I'm hispanic).

Despite the crowding in Chiba & Tokyo, it was a very enjoyable experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who has the time & money.

Word of advice though, do not drink the tap water in the major cities. Higher content of minerals and metals supposedly. Always drink from bottled water.

    [IMG] Welcome back!

(And no KelvS, you shouldn't have made a new account, I could have retrieved your login info for you - but as you haven't read the forum rules where this is written, you have only yourself to blame.)

GabrielNYC, patches for every game on SP can be found in that game's respective Miscellanea subsection. So http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/index_misc.php in this case.

I'm glad you like the new look!

Thanks Tal. Good to see you again too!

I had forgotten how much stuff I need to get to get back into BG II: ToB. I wont need a SoA patch if I install ToB and it's patch, right?

    Gabriel

ps: I apologize for the ineptitude of my questions. While I was in Japan, all I had was my ps2 to keep me busy when I wasnt out at night

I would add, hmm, maybe the Xan MOD? It looks pretty nice, and sounds pretty nice. I would get around to it myself, but well, I have other things on my hands.

And GabrielNYC, I am also known as, in no specific order:

    Ivanji
    Ivanji, son of Loki
    AssWooper the Überspammer
    Caleb: The Chosen
    Cog Primius
    Cog Primus
And some more. I've not really been in any big project, and I was pretty anynomous when you were here, so I am not suprised that you do not know of me.

    Yet...!

    Welcome back GabrielNYC.

Remember, you can install only one non-weidu mod, and you need to install all WeiDU mods after it.

(I would suggest Dungeon-be-Gone and Hell Trials as weidu mods that rock. :p )

That really depends on your definition of "mod". Since most non-WeiDU mods are just files you throw into the override, you can install dozens of those just fine, not just one.

As long as they dont ad conflicting files. If seperate mods alter the same area, then they will conflict. But that is the only case I can think of.

The Xan mod is ok but not that great. Stil if you're a Xan fan it's probably worth it. ;)

About non-WeiDU mods, even if it's a replacement single file I'd still suggest putting it in Override before installing WeiDU mods for the reason Takara mentioned.

As for the Bard Stronghold mod, it is/was hosted at Forgotten Wars but the creator disappeared and it was never finished.

You'll get these in WeiDU Ascension, no need to install the old-school variants.

Well, this is just a browser, so you don't "install" it as such.

I can't support you if you have trouble with this one, and I'm fairly sure Vlad doesn't even support it anymore, either--it's not on his vladp.net site. In any event it is/was non-WeiDU, so you'd need to install it at the beginning, but given the question marks I'd recommend giving it a pass.

I have it installed, but I haven't noticed the differences yet(I just got the Stronghold in chapter 2), but I will go out on a limb and say it's probably a good mod to install.

To quote one of America's newest icon..

    "I'm ready.. I'm ready.. I'm ready!"

I finally installed all of BG2. The anticipation is overwhelming. It's like I just bought this game.

I guess absence does make the heart grow fonder.
