I'd have liked it if certain books contained clues that led to the discovery of uber-powerful weapons and armour. Like pieces of a treasure map and when you get all the pieces together, you get to see where the +7 longsword has been hidden.

I know I have read this somewhere and will probably feel stupid for asking later, but what is the date in FR, how is this date determined, and generally how old is the player character.

(I know that that last one was way off topic, but if I am going to put myself out there, why not go all the way)

I remember reading some book in a mod about a couple of monks that said something about.

What has this got to do with anything?

Maybe it's nice for a bit of humor or philosophy or morals or whatever, but is there a point history wise?

I read the at least once; they give some background to the story (like the story of dead three, one being protagonists "father")

Well I don't remember where exactly I found it but it was in some bookshelf and it was the Neverending Journey mod which brings you to do IWD elements in the mod so it might be from their.
