In addition to quality gameplay and good character development, Baldur's Gate II has a good dose of humor thrown in, which only increases its value. So I'd like to hear about any moments you guys found particularly amusing.

I laughed and laughed at the part in Throne of Bhaal where you hire the amateur adventurers to fight the beholder for you (that's Tim Shadowcloak, I think his name is, and his petrified friends in Abazigal's annoying maze of a lair) and they give you the Bronze Pantalettes. I know, it's not nice to make fun of newbie adventurers, but I love the relentless self-parody. And it's just so funny.

Yes that is funny but I think the Edwin/Edwina change is my favorite. Especially the first time you see/hear it. There are so many little moments depending on which NPCs you have. I love having Vicky, Edwin, Jan and Saravok together. Throw in Haer'Dalis and the whole game is hilarious. For me the NPC interaction is important. It is one of the things that makes this game stand out above the rest.

Tiax in Spellhold, all his lines are great.

The first part of Spellhold is pretty funny - well, some of it. Tiax is hilarious, and I think Dradeel gets some good lines as well.

However, my favourite funny moments of BG2 are:

    3. Jan calling Sarevok "Binky";

    2. The encounters with the Spectator Beholder; and

    1. The two pirates fighting in Brynnlaw - not the ones near Calahan and Galvena's; there's another two above Cayia's house. They stand there for a full ten seconds, just saying, "Arrr!" at each other, before they go at it. I nearly fell off my chair laughing.

    - Edwina's very first line had me fall out of my chair. And one of the answers you can say a few seconds later ("by the way, nice rack")... I almost died of laughter.

    - The petrified adventurers in TOB. The entire dialog about "saving the world" and all that is too good. For once you actually get to SAY it instead of being told!

    - The Spectator beholder in the Sahughin city, especially if you really humor him and take the "long" conversation options

    - Imoen scaring Edwin in TOB, when she goes all "I'm a child of Bhaal!" (all in good fun of course)

    - Minsc talking to the pirate king and convincing him the party should be sent to the asylum

    - Edwina and the elven gigolo in the Copper Coronet

I love the games, but the intertaqctions are just magic. Jan's stories are always a joy, particularly about ano the dung orc.

After that are the times you meet the spectator. Especially in Sendais enclave. oh my captain my captain ....

When Sarevok and Viconia have their first dialogue.

    "...but you, you scare me."

    Thats a good one.

the bholderthingy in the fishy-town and those newbie adventurers you can 'hire' to do your quest. the scene where they discuss how much items you prolly have, then attack you, die, and reload is pure magic. loved it.

I loved when Sarevok talks of having Imoen's soul him in... something about worrying about his weight now hehe that was awesome.

The possible romantic partners and their bickering was my favorite part. I also enjoyed Irenicus's reaction to releasing his "test subjects-How wonderfully mad of you." Minsc has a number of funnies too.

About those pirates saying Arrr - I didn't get the point until now. So it was meant to be funny huh?

Like other people, I found the spectator beholder simply hilarious. The innkeeper and his son in Umar Hills is quite funny too.

Haer'Dalis musing over publishing Sarevok's experience in Hell as "Dalis' Inferno" was pretty neat. I also like listening (reading?) to Jan driving Mazzy up the wall with his stories.

Ah, the Umar Witch Project. It's still funny even though the movie in question has left the planet (thank God).

Edit: I think the winner of the dueling pirates says "Fairly warned be thee, says I." And we all know where that's from, don't we?

Also, have you ever noticed that in the outdoor part of the circus, there's a moose and squirrel in the same enclosure (near the lion tamer dude, I think)?

I've noticed that. Do you think Fearless Leader put them in that cage?

As for me, the moments that I find to be funniest are Jan's interactions with Keldorn. And if we're including mods here, then anything in Cloakwood Squares, as well.

Not as funny as what's been posted before, nor funny in the same way, but:

When <charname>, after being asked by Hendak to get the key to Hendak's cell, says "I'll try. Wait here".

When you find that crazy elf in the 3rd level of Watchers Keep, you can offer to guard him while he sleeps, he tells you that he doesn't sleep, to which you can reply "What but you must sleep, without it you would go cra...... oh."

When you go to the north-east part of Waukeens Promenade there is an important knight who asks you how to get to some place. If you have Minsc in your party, Boo tells Minsc where it is who then relays the information onto the knight. The knight plays along the whole time and even thanks Minsc at the end of it!

All the things listed here are great, except the innkeeper in the Umar Hills and his boy.
some very beautiful dialogues which have not been mentioned yet are Jan trying to get Boo and even faking a deadly disease, the Calim****e Itch :D :D

Edit: What! why those ****?? It is just the name of a disease

:yot: Hm, it seems the auto-censor thing will not allow us to name the inhabitants of Calimshan. This is interesting...

Most of Haer'Dalis's interactions are fun. His romance with Aerie is hilarious: he goes all pompous and pseudo-poetic, and she actually enjoys it!

I just had one. It was almost at the very end of the game. I had Minsc and Aerie in my party. Minsc asks Aerie if she can make medicine. Seems Minsc and Boo got too close to a strange bush while in the woods. Minsc says "Boo wants to go from butt-licking back to butt-kicking".
