    Hi,

Running through SOA/TOB for the first time, have now reached chapter 8 and have just entered city of saradush. I didn't do watchers keep during SOA, will I get an opportunity soon? There does not seem to be any way off the saradush map apart from using my pocket plane, and that seems to only take me to saradush.

Also, I left a lot of stuff in Alkatha/fighters stronghold (not sure of spelling!), most notably my pantaloon collection and several lvl 9 spell scrolls, will I get the opportunity to go back and pick up my stuff?

    Cheers,

    WittyNewt.

  2. Looking at my goblin avatar makes me feel like a pirate, all I need is an eye patch and a wooden leg, arrr...

Now you want to be entering watcher's keep aye? You can do that right after you finish meeting Gromnir Il-Khan, arrr. He be waiting for you in his castle, arrr...

Arrr...as for ye items in your stronghold, arrr..., ye can't be gettin' 'em back, arrr... Sorry now mate, the only way to get 'em back is to load an SOA game, get all ye items and import de character into TOB, arrr....

All grammar mistakes are intentional, arrr...

You could also cheat to get those items back. Since you won them fairly, I don't think it would be too bad. Enable the console, use MoveToArea() to jump to the place you left all your stuff, pick it up, then use MoveToArea() to jump back where you came from. Save you the time and bother of replaying your whole game so far.

You'll have several opportunities to go to Watcher's Keep further in the game. You can go once you finish with Gromnir, though you may feel guilty about the dawdling due to the plot. Or you can go once you've dealt with Yaga Shura, probably better timing gamewise. You can even go at the very end of the game right before entering the final area. It's up to you.

I did it after Yaga Shura. It was kind of tough, but fun. If you wait until the right before the end, it may be a bit easier.

    Hi,

Thanks for the tip. I'll use the movetoarea console cmd to recover my stuff tonight.
YagaShura - hmmm hes the other guy Melissan mentioned, I have agreed to sort out Grominir, makes sense that Yagashura would be next.
Looks like going to Watchers keep after Yagashura sounds like the best option.

As an aside: when do people typically do Watchers Keep? I didn't attempt it during SOA because I made the assumption that I really needed to have reached a post SOA level to have a good chance of completing it and I also wanted to play through the main story without any distractions.
My expectation was that Watchers Keep was like Durlags Tower in BG1, separate story from main story and a vehicle for lots of xp and high level treasures.

    Cheers,

    WittyNewt

When do we do Watcher's Keep? Well, I haven't attempted it in SoA yet, as I haven't played that since I got ToB. No, I usually do it at some point after Gromnir, but before moving on after Yaga Shura. Makes the rest of the game fairly easy... ;)

I did it in SoA the first time I installed it, right near the end of the game. It was tough but doable. It sure made the fight with Irenicus anti-climactic, though. Is WK a Monty Haul or what?

I just did Watcher's Keep, just after Sendai and before Abizagal. Most of the stuff in there is usuable by the butler, so I am glad I never did it in SoA.

The fifth level keys quest end battle was the toughest battle for me so far.
