There's an alignment restriction on Blackrazor right? Does anyone know what it is?

Well, in order to keep Blackrazor, you have to be a jerk and murder the djinni, so I'd assume you can't be Good. Why bother to kill the djinni for the sword at all? You can only use it once!

I was able to keep the Sword for the entire (Minutes actually) remaining part of the game. The decision to keep it is YOUR decision. Role-Play your character and be true to your class/alignment. Don't let anyone 'blast' you for keeping it or discarding it. You purchased the game, enjoy it and play it any way you like!

It's actually a Sword developed in the old 'AD&D' edition 1 days. But it's a 'Vampiric' sword that steals hp's, levels etc to 'embue' your character with Power. This power comes in the forms of additional Strength (for a limited time) and healed hp's. It's a decent weapon, placed in the game so late you have literally a couple of minor battles left before the END BATTLE and END OF GAME...

That's because it would probably unbalance the game if it was available earlier. As a non-assembled weapon the only other weapons that are in the same league are Carsomyr and Celestial Fury.

Interesting point but (yep...) I disagree. Only because there are several weapons in BG2 that are devestating as well -other than the two (+5 & +3 weapons) you mentioned.

There is the Silver Vorpal Blade that can kill with ONE strike, there is the Crom Faeyr that gives 25Str & can kill certain creatures with ONE strike. There is the Azuredge Axe that can kill undead creatures with ONE strike. BlackRazor cannot kill with ONE Strike and some of the benefits it does offer are less likely to happen upon a successful strike. -and even then those benefits last only for seconds.

Placing this weapon around Chap 5/6 with the other 'assembled' weapons would be about right. Furthermore, why even place a weapon in the game at 11:59 p.m. and 1 minute left to go before its all over? I know about the 'test and all' but really... (yes my opinions here but I like my opinions! :)

I also want to say that I'm quite disappointed in just how late in the game Blackrazor appears, because it's an awesome sword!

In fact, since beating the game, I've actually editted this sword onto my character, just to get more use out've it. I have to say, it's quite a nasty weapon, especially if you are a warrior with a decent AC, because usually by the time you've taken damage from monsters, the sword drains 4 levels from them, then heals and hastes you!

It does make alot of the game rather easy, which might be why they put it so late... I just wish they hadn't put it quite *so* near the end.

But why do they have to tease you? IT'S THE END OF THE GAME! NO OTHER VALID USE! Why can't they give it to you earlier when it's actually useful and needed? (Rhetorical)
