    Hello all.

I have completed both BG2 and ToB and I wanted to import my main character back into BG2.

I noticed that after I import my character in, even if I used a save game file versus the character file, I lose all of my HLAs. I was curious if anyone had any idea as to what causes the character to lose the HLAs. As soon as Irenicus is done torturing my character and Imoen frees me, I click on my special abilities star button on the far right and my HLAs are all gone.

If anyone can help me find a way to retain my HLAs that would be great.

I did a search on Google to try to answer this question and to no avail.

Take a look at your character's level.

Originally the character I tried was a level 40 sorcerer. I had a lot of the Scribe Scrolls and the Potion making one (forgot the name of it).

After importing this character file into BG2 and Irenicus was done torturing me I clicked on my character and found out the HLAs were gone. After I beat BG2 and went into ToB the HLAs didnt appear again either.

What I meant by "Take a look at your character's level" was that SoA tends to set your experience down. If you import to SoA you may not have a high enough level to have any HLAs, but to be honest I've never tried to import from BG2 to BG2.

I am sorry for putting this in the wrong forum area.

I figured since I was trying to import a character back into SoA that it belonged in the SoA forum.

As for the level it was maxed out. Level 40 sorcerer. I guess the game has a script or something in SoA at the start with Irenicus that removes HLAs. Oh well.

Yes the script assumes you are starting from where you left off in the orginal BG. So no matter what level your character was it gets kicked back down. You might find some of the imported equipment lying around.
