[IMG] As usual when I've finished a game in most ways imaginable, I like to try modding it myself to make it more fun. There are enough custom quest and item mods around that I dont have to do my own, but I've got some (what I think are) good ideas for some custom kits that I'd like to try. I've been playing around with an Editor, and I've found most of the places where I need to edit, but I must have missed some. Does anyone know where I can get a guide to creating them, or simply a list of all the places I need to edit to make it work? Being pointed in the direction of people who may know would also help.

Probably the best tutorial is CamDawg's, posted in the tutorials section of the Gibberlings Three forums: http://forums.gibberlings3.net

That's got a full list of files, methods, things you can and can't do, programs to use etc. :)

Any problems, feel free to ask!

You're better off learning how to make kits and making exactly what you need on your own. If you don't really want to make a stand alone installer, it's extremely easy. Not like making the installer is oh so difficult, but you're going to learn a bit of Weidu or grab a kit editor for that. Learning a bit of Weidu is probably better in the long run.

I think learning WeiDU is probably best even if you don't want to distribute your mod; it allows you to uninstall your changes easily which is a godsend when learning as you can undo game-breaking mistakes without having to reinstall the enitre game. :)

And remember to grab the spell editor off somewhere if you want non-standard abilities. The abilities your kit receives for levelling up are also spells - they're just cast on the character as a spell with a permanent effect.

Speaking of spell editors, I can recommend you a user-friendly program, Infinity Spell Workshop.

A newer version of it is planned to be released in the near future, however, this one is also totally suitable for your work.
On a side note, Spell Workshop uses another (and probably better) algorythm than IEEP to generate the spell list. While such things details are unseen by the end-user, they're important in everyday modding.

Finally, I wish a successful modding!
