[IMG] Okay, so I've always known that Haer'Dalis refers to himself as the sparrow and the protagonist as the raven, but it wasn't until recently that I noticed that he has nifty animal nicknames for others, too.

Minsc, for example, is the hound.
Aerie is the dove (isn't that sweet?)
    Valygar is the hawk.

Does anyone know off-hand if he has nicknames for other NPC's, and if so, what are they?

    Just curious.

    Keldorn - faithful hound

    Minsc and Jaheira - hound

    Cernd - rustic, wind-borne swallow

    Valygar - hawk

Aerie - mostly dove, but also raven

    Edwin - red-cloaked sparrow-hawk

    Viccy - blackbird

Korgan - hound and dog of war

    Nalia - darling loon

No animal for Anomen and Mazzy. I think that's about it.

Thanks Extremist! I can always count on you for an informed response.

    Nalia's the loon. Hee Hee.

So there's no nicknames for Anomen or Mazzy? What about Jan or Yoshimo. Would Yoshimo be "the weasel" or maybe Jan is "the parrot"

    [IMG] LOL! Nah.

In the only dialog between Jan and Haer'Dalis Jan calls him "Haerry" and Haer complaints...lol

But I've completely forgot to check Yoshimo, sorry! Yoshimo actually insults Haer'Dalis. But Haer is not stupid as he might look:

YOSH: Haer'Dalis, a ronin, a rogue. You've more freedom than most and yet you remain as grumpy as a flea-bitten dog. Why so glum?

HAER: Dogs is it? A fitting cloak for a blood-hound. You've got the scent now, Yoshimo and shall bring the prey to your mysterious master.

YOSH: No master have I save my own conscience. I merely wish to know why life is such a burden to you.

HAER: Shackles as heavy as yours cannot be hidden from one who has been a slave. I tire of this dreadful acting. Leave me be, Yoshimo.

    And second dialog:

YOSH: Haer'dalis, Haer'dalis, you think too much and smile too little! Come, my bullywug! Come, my puss 'n' boots! We are in Athkatla, the city of a million smiling faces!

HAER: Aye, parrot, aye. 'Tis because they're all trying to sell me something!

YOSH: I have seen your fingers and they are as fast as your tongue! What you don't want to buy, you can always steal!

HAER: And what you don't want to steal? ...I trust not your boundless glee, my parrot, for something in it jingles with the sound of silver.

YOSH: Silver? Or gold? We pluck it from every corpse we find and steal it from every chest that we encounter! You are right, bard, I am twice rewarded: once because I am richer in <CHARNAME>'s care, and twice because I am richer here than rotting in some prison of the damned.

HAER: Aye, you are twice rewarded but you have no more been a prisoner than I have been a king... Considered yourself forewarned, thief. My trust does not come easy and you have not won it yet.

Wow! I had no idea that kind of interaction went on between Haer'Dalis and Yoshimo. Of course, I've never had both in the party at once. Now I'm definitely going to put those two together. Thanks for digging that one up, Extremist. I appreciate the effort.

[IMG] Is there someway to start these NPC interactions? I seem to miss so many. I have had Jan, Anomen and Keldorn in my party for a while now. The only interaction I've had was between Keldorn and Anomen. Twice Keldorn has offered Anomen advice. Jan hasn't been saying anything to anyone. Not during the entire Unseeing Eye quest or after.

Could it be because I am in Chap. 6? Or because I had previously booted Jan and then reenlisted him?

Also Jan hasn't been trying to get Minsc from Boo.

    EDIT

Um, I mean Boo from Minsc

    Those interactions normally start randomly.
Most of them you can't "trigger" with your actions. Some rare interactions are triggered by certain state (for example, if a party member finishes the fight heavily injured).

Be aware that not a single party members' interaction gives you a bonus or something. The only thing it can turn into is - a fight between them. However, almost all are fun to read. Plus, you may familiarize with each NPC more when you see his/her thoughts.

To scroll through all of these dialogs, you may activate the console and cheatkeys and then press CTRL+I. This won't give the dialog every single time you press. But will try to force party members' interactions.

Extremist as usual you excell with your knowledge of the infinity engine. I actually remembers that dialogue vaguely. Do you have any more not very known dialogues for us?n I have always trouble triggering them. I seem to finish the games to quickly.

    joacqin, come on!

The topic is about Haer'Dalis' "animals".

Plus, wouldn't it be lame to overspam the boards with such amount of texts?

Use CTRL+I as I stated above to cycle through all possible interactions, then get another NPC, use it again, etc etc.
