Why is Yaga-Shura not dying?

I did the whole heart quest with Nyalee and she extinguished his heart, but he's not taking ANY damage. Is there something I missed?

 

Yeah, Yaga-Shura.

 

You appear to have one ****ed up TOB. After Nyalee has extinguished Yaga-Shura's heart (and you've killed her) you go to the siege camp. Fight your way through Yaga-Shura's army until you come across him. When you attack him, he should take damage and express surprise that you can hurt him. He'll then run so you have to chase him and this time whack him until he's dead. If this isn't happening, I don't know what's wrong.

 

Just as Chris said. Make sure you got 'both' hearts (however I don't know if you can even attempt it with only one) and get her to extinguish Yaga's. When she rejions with her own she realises that you want to hurt her (stupidly large) baby and she turns on you. Once she's dancing with the dead pop on over to the siege camp and hit Yaga with something (probably a 1d6 arrow) and he'll cry 'no fair' and run away like a sissy. He'll reappear or you'll have to go find him south-west and then you beat him to a bloody pulp, or scorch him with fireballs, whack him with a harm spell than breath on him agressivly.

 

if you have improved battles you will have to do a bit of damaging to get trough the invulni even with hearts

 

I don't know what's the matter with my copy of ToB, but I keep getting bugs that mess with my game.

It turned out that I didn't get the Next Chapter Sequence and for some reason I wasn't able to hurt him. The log said he was immune.

Anyway, I'll stop posting about bugs now. I realize I'll just have to go to an earlier save.

 

It might sound silly Mystra. But do you have the latest patch's and fix packs installed? .

I know how annoying it is to try and play ToB when it seems to be riddled with bugs. I've been there.

Perhaps trying a new copy, all the patch's and fixpacks will help? .

 

Do you Tactics installed? Because if you have have Improved Yaga-Shura installed I'm pretty sure that the way it works is it makes him invulnerable for a while. If that's it, it'll wear off after a moderately longish time. Whatever it is, I hope you're able to get it working.

 

I don't have tactics installed - although I will pretty soon I think. I killed Draconis on Hard with no buffs, no Haste... nothing. Ridiculous!

The hardest fight I've had was with the lich in Amekrath (besides Eclipse of course)!

After this run through I'll have any harder mods installed.

At any rate, it was a bug. I didn't get the Chapter Nine sequence (where it tells you that Saradush is basically wrecked and that you'll have to fight Yaga-Shura in order to beat his army).

Thanks for the replies guys, but I guess there's nothing I could've done except grab a reload before I gave Nyalee the heart.
