    Hello everyone,

I've just completed the Firkraag quest (killed him), but I can't get the paladin stronghold. When I talk to lord Windspear after killing Firkraag and saving his daughter, he thanks me, I recieve quest xp, and he tells me to speak with somebody at the Order of the Radiant Heart. So far so well. But after talking to Windspear I suddenly get a lot of new abilities (around 15 Detect Evil, 12 Remove Fear and 12 Prot. from Evil), and when I talk to the guys at the Order no new questions appear (only the standard Cowled Wizards/Irenicus questions). I'm playing as a Cavalier and have done the previous quest for the Order.

Any help or advise what to do?

Do you have the multiple strongholds mod installed?

    No, I havn't.

Eh, I'm trying again now, and it seems that I didn't find the right person in the Order to speak to. I have just found the prelate, and I got the stronghold (I think). Still, gaining the new abilities was a bit strange. I mean, gaining 40 abilities without any real reason seems strange to me.

I haven't done the Paladin stronghold, but from what I understand, you have to wait until the Order tells you to kill Firkraag before you do so (ie. save the child, go to the Order, and do their quests, one of which is to kill Firkraag). So if you killed him first, you may be screwed unless you have a saved game from prior to killing him.

Then again, I could be wrong (edit: and from Xindell's post below, obviously I am wrong).

Actually, I'll bet if you check your abilities, you didn't really GAIN those abilities, even tho the text window said you did. You should've already had them, and the game just decided to tell you you're gaining them. Not sure why it does that.

@Splunge: Killing him first is OK. It just jips you of some XP later. The last 'stronghold' quest you'll get from the Order is to go back and kill Firky. If you've already done it, you miss out on the quest XP from the order for it. You might miss out on the armor, too. Not sure.

I think you get the armour for keeping the woman (whose name I can't quite right remember now) safe. For killing Firkraag you just get an XP bonus which equates to about half of what Firkraag himself is worth!

Hmmm... anyone else find that kind of strange? The second (or third) best armour in SOA for rescuing some stuck-up girl and yet just some XP bonus for ridding the land of a really evil and powerful dragon like Firkraag?

The only problem I've ever encountered with the paladin stronghold is being able to sleep in there. They tell me I have a private room and all, but cannot rest there.

On the abilities: They are standard Paladin abilities, which you actually LOSE when you kill the illusioned paladins, and you get them back once you've rescued Garren's child and restored your honor.

You have to talk to the Prelate. He's not in the main room when you walk in. He is in the first room along the north corridor.

Ahh, thank you everyone, I got it working. And approximely 1 minute after killing Firkraag I realized why I should have trained my paladin with two-handed swords. Oh well.

Hehehe... It sucks having a Pally who can't properly wield Chees-o-myr :D That said, I think you should rrrrrrreally hang onto that sword. there will be plenty of opportunities to get *'s in two-handed sword. ;)
