Two quick questions:

1. Does Aerie actually have her kid in the game?

2. Why, when the Solar shows you your past, does your evil mother come as a spirit and good Gorion come from a Hell hole in the ground?

Yeh, I'm pretty sure she does have the kid after you, AHEM, seed her (yep that's right)

As for Gorion and your so called mother, who knows? It's the Pocket Plane of You, being an entity of Bhall, and he's evil, and the plane is big, but your pocket plane is small, which is also a plane within a plane, but isn't really a ... oh who am I kidding? I DON'T KNOW!!! Just probably something they thought they'd add to look nice!

 

1. Yes, Aerie does have her baby in game.

2. Your mom is dead, so why wouldn't she come as a spirit. The only place of Gorion coming is with the Master Wraith, unless I'm misremembering things.

 

No, you see Gorion in the Pocket Plane as well, he tells you more about your heritage and your mother's role in it and how he saved you instead of Sarevok.

Gorion comes back to tell PC that he prefered to save PC instead of Sarevok and chil Sarevok makes a brief appearance and talks about why he killed Gorion because of this.

I do not think game designers wanted to say that PC mother was good or Gorion was evil, it just looks cool! Or maybe your pocketplane twists the reality in such forms to mislead the PC and plant seeds of suspicion and mistrust! Am I paranoid?

 

No Silver! That's a very good point! I would've actually liked to see more of your mother in the game though, battling her to power would've been interesting ...

It also would've been nice if Gorion could've taught you a few tricks too!

 

Ah, okay my memory is bad.

AFAIK, Gorion was good aligned, if not neutral, unless the Harpers accept evil people into their ranks. Your mother was brought by the Solar while (I think) Gorion was brought by you. If not, remember PC never saw Mom anyway.

 

LOL! No i think the Solar brought Gorion back to tell you a bit about your past, and then your mother was then brought back just so you could see what she had been doing (naughty naughty girl) and then you got all the details of how you ended up in Candlekeep with Gorion!

 

It's very simple, really. Gorion's death is on your head, his blood is on your hands, and his skeleton is in your closet (also known as the Pocket Plane). The hell-hole appearance represents the cause of death; your mother was killed righteously by Gorion, but Gorion died wrongly to save your blighted soul.

Meh, Gorion knew what he was getting himself into when he picked us up ... no blood on my hands. Oh yes, did he not sleep with your mother before she became evil and sided with Bhall?

Actually you find out about them being Lovers in BG1. It's part of the return to candlekeep if you make it back up to his room and read his letter to you. he talks about them being lovers and this is part of why he saved you and took you in.

 

Okay. When does Aerie pop her sprog as it were, then? What do you have to have done?

 

Ah, but remember the note in Gorion's chest that you find in Chapter Six of BG1. It refers to charname's mother as a friend, and on occassion, lover.

So Gorion was a lover of the mother of the PC? But didn't he kill her to save PC? Once again I talk about something I do not know. Forgive my utter ignorance about BG1! I will go cry now.
