I know that you can use SK to multiclass a kit, but I have a couple questions.

It seems like you would have to set several stats (HP, Thac0, Experience, etc.) back to an appropriate level before you can add the kit, or else you will end up with wierd results. So what all do I have to reset, and what do I reset them to? In other words, what do I have to do (step by step) to successfully have a multiclass with a kit?

Additionally, what are the most interesting multiclass possibilities (with kits), other than arcane caster types?

Just answered this in another thread.

As for possibilities, I've heard of mixing Swashbuckler with Fighter, Mage, or Cleric, for extra fighting power. Figher/Assassins or Fighter/Mage/Assassins get some big power too. TBH, the possibilities are pretty wide, and almost all of them are good. The only two things that can't be SKed into multis are Monks and Sorcerers, because they're considered by the engine to be full classes. You may also have some trouble if you try to make a Barbarian/[something], despite it being treated as a fighter kit by the engine.

Kensai. Being able to add more fighter levels at the same time as developing Mage, Thief or whatever else really makes a difference. For sheer overpowered-ness, try a Kensai/Mage/Thief. Also, I find that adding a Kensai kit to an FMT or FM tends to also add an extra spell memorisation slot, for no apparent reason (maybe the engine triggers the extra mage slot upon detecting a kit? :hmm: ), although it may just be a unique bug with my installation, who knows?

Bounty Hunter/Mage...really awesome to play. Level 21+ special traps Maze enemies irrespective of Magic Resistance, Spell Immunities etc...it can actually break the game scripting in some instances (Irenicus in Hell comes to mind)...combined with a full fledged Mage...awesome.

    I agree with the Magpie.

A Kensai/M/T would be really nasty.

A Berserker/M/T is really good too!

I've had a lot of success with both a fighter/Assassin, and T2Bruno also mentioned that barbarians are listed as fighter kits, so a barbarian/thief is a possibility as well.

Cleric/Barbarian is awsome as you can get 100% resistance to physical damage

Kensai with any kind of thief is extremely powerful. UAI makes the kensai ridiculous.

Fighter/Swashbuckler is simply unfair. Swashbuckler/mage is quite fun.

Barbarians have so many good abilities that when combined with any other class they can be overpowering (extra hp's, immune to backstab, extra movement, and immunity to level drain when raged). The only drawback is armor (and that's not much of a drawback when multiclassed).

Wild mage as a specialist. Jan is great as a wild mage/thief.

I like multiclassing clerics to specialty clerics. Not much of a boost, but good for roleplaying (especially after doing the stronghold quests).

I agree with EldritchEvil, Mage/Assassin kicks ass. Backstab for x7 (x10 with Ara's Dagger from the BoM Items Pack) then quickly cast Imp. Invisibility and backstab again (Though I havent used this in a while as I have been trying to eliminate cheese from my game)
