Location of Gold and Silver Ioun Stones

    Does anyone know what areas these are in? I'm finishing Sendai's Enclave (I hope GRRR, but that's a subject for another topic) and am just now installing ToB patch. Have I missed them, or are they still somewhere ahead?

    Well if missed them, that makes two of us. I don't beleive I found either of those two colored Ioun stones. What do they do...and more importantly for future reference, where are they?

    The golden ioun stone gives +1 INT, and the silver gives +1 WIS. As to where I found them, I might have got them in my lil sack at the start, or I might have found them at Abazigals, or maybe even WK, I honestly cant remember...sorry. Actually, I think it was in WK that I found at least one of them, but I cant remember which one.

    I think the silver one is sold somewhere too. First off, they're a pair, and second of all, I searched through a walkthrough -- don't bash me -- and it's not mentioned anywhere as a spoil of battle. Therefore that must also need to be bought.

    That's right, and the silver one is in possession of a merchant whom you save while on your way to Yaga-Shura's lair in Marching mountains. Again it's one of the last items on the list.

    And (it's probably needless to say) they appear only with the patch installed.

    Ah that could be my problem then. I never bothered to install the patch as I didn't find a bug in my game. The only Ioun stone the merchant on the road to the marching mountains had was the onyx one (+1 constitution). Guess I should have downloaded the patch after all :(

    you didn't find a bug ? Luck i'd say :) The most annoying bug is whenever you retreat from an area and the enemies follow you, then the others in the previous are still there. (other than that there isn't anything major) In the city gates i escaped from the lich, it followed, ran back in and the lich was still there and the one from the bar also followed again lol 2 liches. Lucky for me i survived but of course the third one was still outside waiting for me. My char could best describe it as a space-time anomaly. Torm bless the patch :)

    Still haven't downloaded the patch, and I've found only one bug so far...

    Fortunately, I have managed a workaround on that one, although I missed the Darksteel shield. I guess I will probably just give myself the Gold & Silver Ioun stones, since I doubt either of the merchants are there anymore (I'm in Abazigal's lair). I currently have about 370,000 gold so it's not like I couldn't have afforded them (haven't been below 170,000 in all of ToB, IIRC).

    As you say in that case I wouldnt really look at it as cheating. If you need the codes and dont want to grab Dans monster list there is another (small) list of weapon and item codes just for ToB in the same section.

    HELM23 and HELM25, if anyone else cares. Actually found them by fooling around with the numerical values until I got the right one. :) I even took off some of my gold as though I had purchased them (not that it makes a difference).
