[IMG] Is it possible to make an "Anti-Paladin" with legimate means, eg. not using Shadowkeeper and that it had some "dark" powers etc?

Since I'm creating this evil party and I want to make this cool Anti-paladin who could be aligned as Lawful/neutral/chaotic EVIL! :D

Any mods etc. to add these? Or any npc Suggestions? I was thinkin' of Sarevok, Jan, Edwin and Viconia.
protagonist is a Half-Elf Assasin NE and made a Cavalrier which I wanna Corrupt to evil and Decay :D Greed, Revenge, Murder and Corruption is the motto of this party  *Grin*

But anyways, any tips/suggestions on npc's or how to make Anti-Paladin.. I wanna Wield Blackrazor, Unholy-what-was-that-sword-called and wear Human skin etc etc.! :)

Well I would take Korgan along until you get Sarevok (of course), but I'm not too sure about Jan. You are allready a thief, and have a good mage, so there's not too much of a point.

Haer'Dalis might be more useful if the hype about him here is anything to go by, and he has nice mage abilities, same alignment as Jan too.

You might also consider Cernd, he is true neutral after all, and a werewolf suits the dark motif nicely, and druid spells could be handy.

Of course, both these guys are a little fragile, as is Edwin and Viconia.

If you go on a slaughtering spree with just your two PC's then your paladin should become fallen fairly quickly- someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm sure you could justify it somehow. Anyone who is the slightest bit rude or dismissive of your pally's prowess or stature is just asking to be "reprimanded", and then he'll need to fend off the red observers, that should do it. Kill some drunk or something for offending him. Ah *cough* I mean "purge" the dog for his wanton Blasphemy.

Have him waste Anomen too, for me. I'm sure he offended some part of your paladin's creed. :D (just make sure you don't turn Korgan hostile when you do ;) )

Edit: I just had another idea; Your paladin may be enraged by any number of priests or soldiers of differeing denominations. Feel free to "cleanse" the heretics, all of the heretics :)

My advice, if you're thinking of making a paladin character fall is: don't. He loses paladin benefits, but does not gain fighter abilities, such as weapon specialization. In addition, he still costs the same 300,000 XP per level. Your fallen paladin will still remain lawful good. The only legitimate way to change his alignment is to take the evil path in Hell. A fallen paladin is no great champion of evil, he's simply a slightly pathetic figure who has found himself unable to live up to the exacting requirements of his paladin vows. Reynaud de Chatillon is a good example of a fallen paladin.

You could argue all you like that there should be an evil equivalent of a paladin, but the fact is, there isn't. Then again, it's your game and there's nothing to stop you from using Shadowkeeper to grant suitably infernal powers: Cloak Of Fear, Draw Upon (Un)holy Might, Contagion, Cause Disease, etc.

Alternatively, the sort of character you're looking for might be a chaotic evil Berserker dualled to cleric.

    [IMG] Great Ideas  :)

I was wondering that someone who would have enough skills could make an anti-paladin NPC, I already wrote down some biography, he's a human, but has some kind of 1/4 part Drow and henceforth he has this evil legacy, lets say hes deity would be like Cyric or other evil god/goddess (I cant remember the pantheon of Forgotten Realms) and the first reason in the beginnig why he joins is the reason that he'd like to become a Child of Bhaal himself etc..? :) He thinks that killing one makes you one, but then when the PC kicks he's arse, when he's at near death, he would be turn into this cunning evil Anti-paladin, joining the party etc :D

    I'd say it'd be worth a shot, anyone? =)

Chris Williams has it right. The closest equivalent to an Anti-Paladin might be a Fighter/Cleric of some sort.

Download the Ashes of Ember Mod which is available on SP so that any character can use any weapon as long as they meet the strength requirements regardless of class.

Then you can have your fighter/cleric using Blackrazor, Soul Reaver and other bladed weapons if you want.

Human Skin Armor is really too weak and wimpy to be worth it. Evil characters (Lawful ones) are perfectly justified in honoring their agreement with Adalon since they will not be doing any great good anyway and that they did so through deception and deceit of another party, albeit an evil one.
(Pink armor simply does not make an Anti-Paladin/Blackguard)

Party wise, Korgan, Viconia and Edwin make obvious choices. Take Yoshimio and then replace him with Imoen later. She'll whine and whine but she won't leave or turn on you. Throw in Sarevok in TOB. If you already are confident in the melee dept, bring along Haer Dalis. He's useful at times.

There is a Blackguard Kit which you can download.

[edit: Blackguards are, for those who don't know, the Evil Paladin prestige class from the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (3rd Edition D&D). They are basically opposite to Paladins.]

Where can I get this Blackguard kit? =)

    @shura
I made my PC a fighter/thief since Assasin was a Failure:) I habe Item Upgrade mod on, so it's possible to take the +5 human flesh (ac 0 + other abilities) :D
I sort of cheated with my 2 pc's, I created the "anti-paladin", added him some special skills with Shadowkeeper.. Cloak of Fear, Draw upon holy might, fist of bhaal(which doesn't seem to work) and Kai (you know, skill from Kensai).

But If I can find that Blackguard I'll try it :)

[IMG] But the Human Flesh armor is...well...pink.

Assassins are actually quite awesome characters but a Fighter/Thief MC owns like hell. Good choice!

As for the Blackguard kit, you'll have to ask Gopher for more details since I've never heard of that Mod before.

I've heard nothing but horrible things about TDD so IMO you should not install that mod. Embers of Ashes is a very useful mod which I reccommend, though.

There is a Death Knight kit mod here but I'm not really sure how it works.

    Anyway, here's my current character:

Lancress Stryfe: Lawful Evil Fighter/Cleric Dual class, wielding Foebane + 5 (this sword is awesome! It drains HP with each blow and increases your maximum HP!). Your essential Dark Warrior with unholy powers like Finger of Death, Globe of Blades, Summon Fallen Deva, Unholy Smite, etc.

Party members: Sarevok, Korgan, Viconia, Imoen, and Edwin.

    Current Reputation: 2 :D :D

I personally think the paladin class is far to limited and doesn't represent the different types of "holy warriors" that can exist.

Paladins always seen to be followers of either Tyr, Lanthander and Helm. However, other gods can have holy warriors.

I'm not sure about 3E rules, but it would be a good idea to expand the class.

Hehe, I'm actually working on a mod featuring a paladin of Sune. The PC will also have the option to corrupt her. The concept of a fallen paladin is just one with so much potential. I had to give it a try. :)

Weimers' Tactics MOD includes an anti-paladin. It's basically an inquisitor but is a fighter kit so dual classing with a human is possible....

    Available from

    http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/index_editors7.php

@Death Whisper - I edited the link to one here on Sorcerer's :)

kezardin is right, the tactics mod includes a anti-paladin as a fighter kit.

Just go to the link kezardin posted and get the mod.

you dont need to install everything from the mod if you dont wish too, it let you choose what to install.

if the link kezardin posted doesnt work, do a search on google or altavista for "weimer" or "weidu".

Question: how does your Fighter / Cleric wield Foebane? Isn't he forbidden by oath to use edged or pointed weapons (and doesn't the game engine enforce this same oath)?

good questione as dual classes is forced to use the same weapons as the multiclass counterpart.

for expample: the multiclass cleric\fighter is restricted to cleric weapons, that means a dual classed fighter\cleric is too...

i might be wrong though as dual classing offers some unforseen abilities.

    @Chris

the Ashes of Embers MOD which Shura mentioned includes a "Universal weapons for all classes" component, so sword-wielding clerics become a possibility :)

Ashes of Embers indeed. I keep confusing the two elements of its title..

    Thanks for clearing it up.

Hmm, I Agree with you shura, time ago, the prime reason Why I Installed bg2 was TDD..
first of all, the items were like.. OMG :D
    +7 1 handed swords with 50% imp. haste & 2lvl drain :D Geez louise! "slightly" overpowered :D
and the bugs, I had it crash like 3 times in 15 min. all on some stupid dialogue.
It had a nice way informing "you took the wrong choice" Finger of Death on BG2, no save! :)

Anyways, back to the chase, I'm about to try that Blackguard -kit, since i'm right now truly facinated by this Anti-Paladin.. They could be compared to Sith, Prime Mission: Eradicate Paladins and Rule the world with iron fist of Tyranny!.. Yeah, that's the spirit :D

    :EDIT:
I Installed Weimers Ascension, but there istn't no extra Kits for fighters/paladins concerning any anti-paladins :( What's up with that?

I wish there was also some sort of "Death Mage" or "Battle Mage" -kit, or somekind of kits for sorcerers :) eg. Specialize in necromancy/death magic etc.. :D

Yea I know that one, but it's not what I mean, A SORCERESS Necromancer with new spells etc..
    Spells concerning souls etc. ?
and increasing spell piercing/magic resistance ignorance etc.. decrease saving throws in Finger of Death or something like that..
Ofcourse there should be disadvantages also but dunno what..
