I realise that similar topics have been created before, but reading a post by Deuce in the other topic made me realise that there are probably TONS of creative ways to set up Spell Sequencers and Triggers, Chain Contingencies, and other general spell combos which don't necessarily have to be stored beforehand.

For example, the Spell Trigger with Doom, Dolorous Decay x2 was just crazy! :D

And, more importantly, I'm going to be playing a Fighter/Mage/Cleric through SoA+ToB again, and this is just what I need to make this run really fun. :D

So...if you have anything you'd like to share, go ahead!

er.... no. Dolorous Decay is a druid spell.... there is no druid/mage... A druid maintains nature's balance while a mage bent nature at will...

Even you can be a druid/mage, insect plague is better as you don't need doom....

btw I just tried it on the yellow dragon in ritual. He doesn't cheat. Once he's insect plagued, he never cast another spell....

The only thing I use is heal + something else. Especially in CC. spell trigger takes ages to cast, I don't think it's wise to not prepare beforehand.

Ack! Dead on on the Doom/Decay - I blame the Druidic Sorceror kit mod (Which is very fun but admittedly major cheese), in which case it was probably a Greater Malison/DD/DD (But have fun with DD you Druids, you don't need THAT many Fire Elementals). Ok, so legit for a Mage/Cleric combo for "everyday" melee once you have Chain Contingency (hey, it could happen) Try on hit, target self, Heal, PFMW, Blade Barrier. Your healed up, practicaly impossible to hit and getting close to you is suddenly a very bad idea.

Dolorus Decay and Conjure Fire Elemental are the same level spell, so memorizing DD would cause you to memorize one less other 6th level spell.

How about a nice simple one, using only 1st level spells: Doom/Chromatic Orb. Works wonders, sometimes ;)

Huh...DD is a druid spell...I wasn't aware of that. I was just repeating what Deuce had posted in the other thread.

My apologies for an incorrect example.

    @ Faraaz

Yup, see my above mea culpa. Comes from having too many concurent games running (with too many mod combos - very confusing, but fun).

@ Faraaz are you playing with the XP Cap removed?
Otherwise i think M-C is much more powerful than a F-M-C

Anyway the great advantage of a M-C is that they can have infinite combinations of mage-clerics spells. Some of them:

    - Timestop + Harm ...
    - Chain contigencies:
CC with 3x Implosion or Breach+imp.+imp.
CC with 3x Storm of Vengeance
CC with 3x ADHW or CC with 3x Fire storm
A very useful one CC with Mass invisibility + 2 Project Image
Of course the cheesy Project image abuse.A M-C can summon sk.warriors with both mage and cleric spells.

    Don't forget Doom+l.resistance+ Chr.orb
    or Doom+G.Malison+C.orb (=Dragon slayer ;) )

    And many others...
IMHO a Mage-Cleric is one of the most overpowered characters and the only one who can confront the Sorcerer (well he and the Wild mage maybe)

PS: Has anyone thought that little Aerie at level cap.+ some boost-stat. items may be the most powerful NPC of BG2 ? ;)

@thetruth: Hmm...I am aware of that, in fact I have had atleast two memorable run throughs with a solo Mage/Cleric. Also, IIRC, it was my only character which totally breezed through Improved Irenicus...if the words "breezed through" can be used for that ******* fight... :grr:

However, the advantage of a F/M/C is that I don't have to cast spells everytime I want to take down a crummy goblin or orc. And this time, I am aiming for convenience and fun, with my favourite multiclass rather than UBERPOWER with occult magiks... :D
