I uninstalled TOB so i could go through baldurs gate 1 again, but now i want TOB installed again it just keeps trying to uninstall it, as it doesnt recognise it as being uninstalled. This causes a serious problem as i cant play TOB and my dad wont let me format the hard drive to solve all my problems...any ideas?

It says in readme or during install/uninstall itself that after uninstalling ToB there may be problems with SoA and you have to remove them both and and install from the very begbinning.

tob overrides some critical game files (like all files in override folder etc..) not to mention the main executable file. So once you uninstall tob you can not play soa. Either uninstall soa or reinstall tob.

Either you didn't uninstall properly, or Windows errored during the uninstall process. Try uninstalling through Add/Remove Programs under the Control Panel. If that doesn't work (and it probably won't, if you've deleted stuff), you'll most likely have to use a registry editor. I'd advise letting someone who knows more about it do the actual editing. I, er, managed to make one of our computers completely useless by deleting a key.
