I've been inspired of Modjahed to create this ass/fighter, he's not done yeet but I think I know some of his stats now. Try give them a look plz.

    Elantar:

Assassin lvl. 25/Figther LvL. 26 DC.

    Str. 24
    Con. 21
    Dex. 21
    Wis. 18
    Int. cant remember
    Cha. 13

    Maximum backstap dmg:

    12(Corsomyr)+12(Str.)+6(magic bonus from corsomyr)+2(Wep prof)*7+24=248

Plz correct this if its wrong, I was unsure if poison dmg could be multiplied by backstap... so therefore I put it last in the formula.

To get my stats I did the same as Modjahed
    (I have Bg1+tosc+bg2+tob)
Stats: +1 to all (+2 to WIS) in BG, +1 to all Lum the Mad, +3 STR Hell, +1 STR Deck of Many Things.

I have some prob with profincies through, plz help me on that one. The only thing im sure on is two in two handed sword and in 2 handed wep. style.

Also I have played with the thought of giving him a robe, because robe doesn't count as magic armour(strange right?), so I could use the cloack of protection+2. If I do that what robe would then be the best?

Ps. Can Any1 give me a link to a website where I can see xp tables for tob, 'cause my manual are gone... Thx on beforehand

    PPs. Sorry I type awfull

You can't wear a robe unless you are a class that casts magic, i.e. bard, sorcerer or mage.

And I'm not sure if you can backstab with Carsomyr.

[IMG] You actually can wear a robe - even as a lvl-25 assassin. But only when you choose the use-any-item ability.

I think the weirdest thing about this powerstabber char is especially that you have little opportunity to enjoy your char: Eventually you'll regain your thief abilities extremely late, about when you hit the x-cap, which is usually late in ToB (unless you solo).

So you'll play one half of the game an assassin, the other half of the game a fighter only to enjoy playing an UBAR-monster for 15 minutes. I actually doubt that makes sense.

    You can't backstab with Carsomyr.

I believe you can get a +2 bonus to STR in hell (not +3).

I personally don't like power dual classing in TOB, because (as has been pointed out) it's like playing one character for half the game, another character for almost the remaining half, and the power character for almost none at all! Furthermore, multi-class will allow many more HLAs - and a lot of power comes from that!

No, only weapons normally useable by thieves can be used to backstab.

  8. Corsomyr = Carsomyr!!!(bastardized spelling)anyway I think thet hes quite good!!!

  9. Two reasons why he cant backstab with Carsomyr

    1. Carsomyr is only allowed to be used by Pallies. Even with UAI, he cant use it. Just like he cant use SotM for backstabing, even though Theives can backstab with staves in BGII, because it is restricted to a specific class.

    2. Theives can only backstab with weapons that are allowable to the Theive class, if you right click on the item, and it says its not allowed to be used by theives, or only useable by a certain class.. then you can not back stab with it

Yes, UAI allows thieves to use Carsomyr. No thieves still can't backstab with weapons other than weapons allowed to thieves (like long or short sword).

[edit]there was a part about a staff here, but that cant be used for stabbing :([/edit]

The best cloack would probably be cloack of non detection....

@kull: In hell it says +2 to strength, but my character went from 19 to 22 STR

No, you can't backstab with a staff.

[Edit] Oops. I stand corrected. Somehow you can "stab" with a staff, generally. The only staff my mage-thief ever tried to backstab with (staff of the magi) did not work.

just like fighter-theives cant backstab with axes, 2h swds, etc, no theif can use a weapon that wasnt originally on the theif list to backstab with. its just a rule, take our word for it!!!

Doh! Anyways dagger of the stars is a nice alternative, can't think of any other weapons with the become invisible ability right now. I'll just edit the staff out of my previous post.

You can backstab with any weapon normally useable by a thief. This includes staves.

  16. /me wonders why people thinks he knows nothing about theives...

As BTA said, any weapon allowed to theives are usable by them in backstabing. But if it says not allowed: theives, of only allowed: mages for example.. then it cant be used in backstabing.

The Staff of the Magi can not be used to backstab even though it is a staff, because its restricted to mages. Even Mage/theives cant use it to backstab.
Clubs can also be used for backstabing.

That's it! Now I'm gonna test it.

    [edit]
You can backstab with staves, but not with the staff of magi. I can say that with certainty....

Use the xp tables from your BG2:SoA manual!
After levels 9-11 (depending on class) the amount of xp required to reach next level is the same every time. The only exception is the Druid.

This should be obvious if you look at the xp tables for a few seconds. :)

Here is the changed Druid level table from ToB:
    Druid
    level -- xp
    16 -- 3,150'
    17 -- 3,300'
    18 -- 3,450'
    19 -- 3,600'
    20 -- 3,750'
    21 -- 3,900'
    22 -- 4,050'
    23 -- 4,400'
    24 -- 4,700'
    25 -- 5,000'
    26 -- 5,500'
    27 -- 6,000'
    28 -- 6,500'
    29 -- 7,000'
    30 -- 7,500'
    31 -- 8,000'

anyway, I would choose a two handed weapon, for they do more damage, and because with the proper ability you will have more critical hits.

  20. StressedE, two points:

The only two handed weapon he can go for with a Thief character is Staves, because of thief restrictions.. even with UAI he could use two-handed swords.. but not with proficiency. Nor could he backstab with them.

    and in your other post:
I said that in the post just above yours..

    [edit]
typo and added some other info
