Somewhere in the later stages of SoA, I had Aerie cast Spell Sequencer, but I never came down to actually using the sequencer. I just rested at some time, but the sequencer icon on Aerie's portrait just remained there. I never thought to much of it, actually, but now I'm well into ToB, I want Aerie to use Spell Sequencer again, but it seems she can't use it anymore. She can cast the spell allright, but the dialogue window for chosing the spells to be cast no longer comes up, and the special abilities icon is just grayed out. Anything I can do about this? I deleted quite a few savegames, so going back and re-playing isn't an option actually.
    PS: ToB is patched.

I've never seen this problem before, and I use sequencers extensively. The duration on the spell is permanent, so something interacted badly with it somewhere along the way. I could hazard some guesses about what happened, but they would be just that. Try using Shadow Keeper and see what it says about the effects on Aerie. As a throw-away suggestion (just to cover the bases), un-memorize sequencer, rest, then re-memorize. I don't see how that will alter the grayed-out icon, but who knows.

Also, do you have any mods active, or have you done any fiddling with the game via SK or CLUA?

Well, the remove spell, rest, re-memorize didn't work sadly enough. I even tried having Imoen and Anomen cast Dispel Magic, Remove Magic and Remove Curse on Aerie, but to no avail.
Apparently the problem lies with the fact that since Aerie never used the Spell Sequencer Special Ability, according to the game she still has the Sequencer active, although the sequencer is gone from her Special Abilities. When I cast the spell again now, the dialogue window says something like 'You can't cast multiple versions of this spell on your character.'
Never used ShadowKeeper before, maybe it's the only way out.

I thought about it a little more and it seems to me it has to be something to do with the transition to ToB and the summoning of Aerie's spirit. I'm sure I've transferred sequencers over from SoA to Tob in the past, though. Oh well, I hope SK works for you.

If you have debug mode enabled, put the cursor over Aerie and hit ctrl-R. Along with completely healing the character, it also clears out sequencers. This problem happens if you put spells in a sequencer and then no longer have them in the spellbook.

Ahh, that makes sense. I usually play as sorcerers, which is why I haven't seen this problem. Interesting.

Well, I downloaded SK, had a look at Aerie's affects list, and removed a hexadecimal value that was set to -1, and that seemed to do the trick. Spell Sequencer can be cast and used again, just hope I didn't also change other things with this which I'll find out about way later in the game.
