This is where the parts can be found:

Gauntlets of Ogre Power: On a halfling in the Planar Sphere.

Hammer of Thunderbolts: In a secret part of the Temple District sewers; requires Sewer Key from Firkraag's dungeon to enter. But beware, it's truly perilous work!

Crom Faeyr Scroll: On the Shadow Dragon in the temple near Umar Hills.

Girdle of Frost Giant Strength: In the Kuo-Toa lair in the Underdark. Requires sacrifice. ;)

namuras, lol :) Sacrifice a spell yes :)

Cromwell can of course forge this to the great hammer (however I don't like it, it's too overpowered)

I agree, it's better to give all of those strength increasing items to your party members. Besides, when I had the option of forging it no one in my party was good with Warhammers, but then again it sets strength to 25 which gives +7 to hit and +14 to damage so I doubt you'd even need any proficencies in it...

It gets worse melord, when people dual wield it. Like combining Crom Faeyer and Celestial Fury. Can I say *ouch*?

I'm just saying what people do, I don't approve of it. You'd understand this if you read above. How could someone dual wield a hammer and a katana at the same time anyway? If it were even pysically possible, it would look wierd as hell, and be totally off balance. Huge bulky hammer next to lighting fast, totally balanced katana. Just doesn't make sense to me.

I'll agree that you would be way unbalenced but you could use a bastard sword instead or for even wors game balance the hammer in TOB.

[IMG] With a godlike strength of 25 whats to say that dual wielding a war hammer and a katana is wrong? I think such a strength would make it quite possible.

I don't think Crom Faeyr is so unbalanced.
The strength boost is not unique. You have three giant strength girdles - only two if you build Crom Faeyr - giving superhuman strength.
Your fighters are likely at level 15+ once you get Crom Faeyr which means they aren't having any trouble hitting things. Base THAC0 6 or better, add in specialization, weapon bonus, strength bonus and we're talking THAC0 -1 or better.

You get higher damage, but there are other weapons that give more extra damage than Crom Faeyr which evens things out.

All that said I wouldn't have objected if Crom Faeyr had been a two handed weapon.

[IMG] I like the almighty Crom, although the celestial fury partnership seems a little unnecessary. I prefer to give the hefty hammer to a weaker character such as Aerie or, as Extremist says, Viconia so they can hold their own in combat when they have to, rather than giving it to an already beefy character for a few relatively insignificant boni in THAC0 and damage. I certainly know what my evil cleric/mage is going to be swinging about his head once he gets through BG1

Actually, a Katana was a double handed weapon, IIRC. I mean, its got to be pretty heavy.
