    Per the topic I started a couple of days ago on Bohdi, I was surprised that many people do not consider siding with the vampires as evil. So a quick poll for your thoughts.

    Poll Information
    This poll contains 3 question(s). 50 user(s) have voted.
    You may not view the results of this poll without voting.

    Poll Results: Who do you side with? (50 votes.)

    Which path is not evil, or at the very least, less evil? (Choose 1)
    * Siding with Bohdi is the evil path, but siding with the Shadow Thieves is the good path - 8% (4)
    * Siding with the Shadow Thieves is the evil path, but siding with Bohdi is the good path - 0% (0)
    * Both are evil, but siding with the Shadow Thieves is the lesser of the two evils - 78% (39)
    * Both are evil, but siding with Bohdi is the lesser of the two evils - 6% (3)
    * Neither are evil, so alignment is irrelevant when making the decision - 8% (4)

    If you are playing a good aligned PC, who do you typically side with (Choose 1)
    * Bohdi - 0% (0)
    * Shadow Thieves - 86% (43)
    * It depends on whether or not the extra equipment I get from siding with Bohdi will be useful to my party - 14% (7)

    If you are playing an evil PC, who do you typically side with (Choose 1)
    * Bohdi - 50% (25)
    * Shadow Thieves - 22% (11)
    * It depends on whether or not the extra equipment I get from siding with Bohdi will be useful to my party - 28% (14)

    Funny. Only yesterday I decided to side with Bodhi. This path I took only once, when I started playing the game. All the other times through I chose the Shadow Thieves as allies.
    Maybe I would have worked for Bodhi more often - alas, Keldorn wont have it. And he is someone I like to have around, as a guardian of my conscience. :D

    This time, however, my party is evil (Edwin, Viconia, Korgan) and CN (Haer'Dalis, Jan, my Jester) and Keldorn cant contain my darkness. lol

    By the way, when choosing the greater evil (Bodhi) one actually serves the good side. This way I make Athkatla a better place, right? First, the Thieves are destroyed, then, upon my return, Bodhi gets it. Light prevails. Damn. :mad: ;)

    Just realized I mis-spelled "Bohdi" every time in the poll. My most humble apologies.

    Oh, yeah, I almost forgot the obligitory :doh: and to state that I'm an idiot.

    Is it just Keldorn that has a problem with it? Or do other good characters (Mazzy, Minsc, Aerie, etc.) also have a problem with it?

    As a good aligned character I always side with the Shadow Thieves, because they are the lesser of two evils. (I never play as evil, but I voted for Bodhi in that category.)

    I don´t think you could call the Shadow Thieves a "good" organisation, but Bodhi is worse. At least that´s my opinion.

    @ Aldeth.
    Keldorn leaves the party the moment you make the deal with Bodhi.
    Minsc protests, but stays, saying he trusts your decision, or something. This I know for sure.
    Aerie is against it, but she stays.

    Mazzy & Valygar. Dont know. But I dont think Mazzy tolerates such evil and will leave.

    I usually side with the shadow thieves because I find defeating the vampires easier (with the correct spells they're a pushover). From a roleplaying point of view, I never really give a damn as to which side is evil. They're all evil! While the thieves might be the lesser evil of the two, at the end of the day they still rob people and I bet the majority of them have killed innocents throughout their lives.

    I side with whoever the party would benefit most from the free items. That's all that matters in this game. Evil shmevil...

    Shadow Thieves are the lesser of two evils and thus I side with them. Even when evil its hard to side with Bhodi because more often than not I'll take the 'pure' evil NPCs and thus force the PC to be a fighter/thief. You can't side with Bhodi and have the Shadow Thief stronghold.

    I tend to side with the shadow thieve because I always play good aligned characters, also my main character is often a thief, so I need to keep them on my side for the stronghold.
    @Dendri
    I am not saying your wrong but, That doesn't make much sense, didn't Bodhi kill Dynahier, I would have thought of all the people he would be the most likely to leave! or am I stupidly mistaken?

    Irenicus killed Dynaheir. I think Minsc yells that at some point during the game. Minsc is completely loyal to the PC (not to mention a little dim) so it makes sense that he doesn't leave. Of course, he also gets to smite more evil by siding with Bodhi.

    But why would Minsc agree to side with Bhodi? His preferred enemy is a vampire.

    In BG1, Minsc's racial enemy was gnoll, but he seems to have "forgotten" that. Even though his racial enemy changes to vampire in BG2, you don't necessarily know Bodhi is a vampire when you get her proposal. His ...unique mental state makes roleplaying an alleigance with Bodhi more interesting.

    @ Klorox

    Technically, Bodhi doesn't give you anything upon siding with her. You do get a lot of items from thieves that you kill in doing her quests. You get a +3 throwing axe that returns to you hand - which is especially nice if are playing an evil party and can't use Azurege. The rest of the stuff comes from Aran Linvail's body. In addition to the Ring of Protection +2 and the Sensate Amulet that you also get if you side with him, you also get Elvin Chain Mail +1 (which Nalia, Imoen and Jan can wear and still cast spells - or any PC theif/mage combo) and a ring of Summon Djinni once per day. Since you get all the stuff you get if you side with the thieves, plus extra items, simply from a cost/benefit analysis, Bodhi is the way to go.

    I normally play with the Shadow Thieves for one reason - I'm lazy.
    Explenation: When you're in the Shadow Thieves mainhall, you can't rest..very annoying since you got backstabbing rouges all over the place.

    Since I 90%, if possible, play (chaotic) neutral, voting was kinda difficult. A Chaotic Neutral doesn't care about anything really, neither side. I'll go with Bodhi this time though (Chaotic Neutral Blade) since I want the Elven Chain amongst other things - and a new experience since I've forgotten all about siding with Bodhi.

    I have only ever side with the Shadow Theives, just out of ease. The last time I tried to side with Bodhi, she said that I would not help her because I was a thief.

    I might write some things here and bicker about people not roleplaying a role-playing game, but i know its a futile attempt so i wont bother.

    Besides, the poll itself is way to limiting. I understand the options were given for a "standard" evil character, but there are many, many types of evil persona around. Quite a few dont even care about anything.
    So i say: Everything depends on the character you're playing.
    *shrugs*
