Nathaniel and Jaheira are in combat mode!

Well, I have Jaheira and Nathaniel in my party. Nathaniel is the romancable kensai mod NPC, who is a little gay and will romance male PCs. Well, just by accident my current PC chorister is male too and thus romancing Jaheira and Nathaniel!

I already know Jaheira's romance, it is fun and rewarding, BUT Nathy's is soo fun too! Now now, I am not strictly gay but it is soo fun, the romance is well written, plot is very good, and banters are...quite nice. Especially I like the tons of interactions, I fed him with cake (his favourite food) he ate it from my hand and licked my PC'S fingers! Then he has secrets, he has a scar in his neck and nightmare of vampires, when I bit his neck while flirting he became too agitated and said 'never do that again'. Oh he also has panic attack, really! Later I offered to massage his feet then tickled him most mercilessly like a traitor for the fun of it! (he is soooo ticklish!) You see, this is one perverted BUT truly fun mod!

As it so happens, Jaheira and Nathy came into a conflict for my romance. Now, I have multiple romances component, so I choose Nathy and said to Jaheira that 'we were only friends'; hoping that I will still be able to continue romancing BOTH. I was not sure though, but if I had to choose one, I'd choose Nathy as I have done Jaheira's three times before.

And it was a success! After the 'cat fight' talk both continued to romance me normally, Nathy became even more closer and closer and Jaheira's harperish plots continued. It was fun!

We found Nathy's old friend and asked questions for Latimer (his first love who is lost) everything seemed to be fine. Then he asked me if I had ever been with someone, ; my PC lied and said 'no' then, I guess, a strange bug occured.

Now, Jaheira and Nathy are constantly in combat mode. They wield their weapons threatiningly and are ready for combat even when there is no ocmbat going on; they are always in combat mode which is annoying. I order them to walk, they walk and stop abruptly after a few steps to enter combat mode! So I had to make them walk with small destinations, which is sooo annoying. Also when I order them to attack someone they sometimes do not attack. You can't know how annoying this is especially when they are the only real fighters in my party. Luckily their scripts and AIs work, so they attack enemies normally if enabled, but this does not offer me much tactical advantage which I need to survive hardest battles in my modded game.

Made a test. Killed Jaheira with CTRL+Y. Then Nathy came out of combat mode! Jaheira was gone and he was normal, I could control him normally. CTRL+R ed Jaheira and they BOTH entered combat mode again! Killed Nathy this time and Jaheira was normal. Revived and they both went on combat mode....

This is weird, I guess when they are both alive, this causes such a bug. Why? What can I do to fix it?

Jaheira will soon leave me for Harper hold to be hudged, and I hope it will cure the bug, somehow. Or won't it?

What is the cause, are they trying to intimidate each other, to win me? Calm down guys, I am more than enough for you two both, in my last game I had romanced Jaheira, Viccy and Sola all together and it was fun!

So please help this perverted Bhaal-child, will ya?

 

I don't think your bug is romance-related, SS. When I played with Nathaniel, he would suddenly stop moving if I ordered the party to attack someone, and I'd have to coax him into attacking...it sometimes took a few tries. And yes, it was annoying, but your situation sounds a little more extreme.

It is NOT recommended that you have the multiple romance component installed when romancing Nathaniel: I believe that's covered in the ReadME. He's only set up to have a(n optional) conflict with Solafuein, but even then, you must choose one or the other to be with. So, your bug COULD be romance related, although I didn't see anything posted about that on his forum.

I'd address your concerns directly to Miss Sakaki and Feuille here: Nathaniel Forum

They might be able to give you some more info.

So you think the bug is due to Nathaniel himself, not strictly his romance.

There was a romance conflict with Jaheira, when Nathy was talking with me Jaheira intervened and forced me to choose one of them, I chose Nathy but I ocntinued to romance both of them from that point on.

I will try contacting Miss Sakaki then, she has once appeared here to answer questions about Nathaniel mod. Thanks for the link!

Hey it is no cheating pn Nathaniel, just my PC has different tastes and wants to try every kind of thing available.

 

I couldn't really tell you if the bug is Nathaniel-related or not; like I said, your situation sounds pretty extreme, and I never saw any posts about a bug like that on the Nat forum. However, since it's happening to Jaheira AND Nathaniel, it stands to reason that this little menage-a-tois you've got going on is probably the cause. That's why I think your best bet is the Nat forum; the creators might be able to offer you a solution (or a least a good talking-to about not following the Read Me! )

BTW, you can say you're not cheating on Nathaniel all you want, but I'm pretty sure he'd take a different view of things. He IS Lawful Good, after all.

 

I'm afraid it's more than likely the multiple romance patch that's messing up their walking etc. (See the Nathaniel forum for more detailed answer.)

Heh heh. During the Viconia conflict you have the opportunity to suggest that you "all just get along" - but I'd recommend saving before trying it, neither of them like the idea much!
