Spellcasting is disabled by raging. The point I'm making is that, sure, a Berserker/Mage can rage, but he loses the ability to cast spells while he's doing it, so the "advantage" carries a severe drawback. There are too many other ways to gain the immunities that rage will grant to make the kit worthwhile for a wizard. It's better than dualling a straight fighter, sure, but dualling a wizard slayer or kensai would be a much better choice.

Who told you that, Drew? My Bers/Mage could cast while raging...

Well, that's definitely a shock. I wasn't aware the fixpacks didn't adress this. I have it fixed locally, but it turns out it gets fixed by one of my personal-use-only mods. I'll go report it at G3 when the forum is back up and hopefully they'll fix this one for the next release. It's definitely a bug.

Where in the rules does it say that enrage disables spells? That isn't a bug.

Of course they don't say anything about a Berserker rage disrupting spells, this is a fighter kit, and not expected to be a spellcaster. But we're talking about blinding, red haze, gibbering and bellowing fury here. It's not exactly conducive to precise spellcasting to be completely out of your mind, with your instincts in control. Not unlike the Slayer form.

Though one thing the rules do mention...
I would think that casting a spell, which requires precise speech and hand movements, would be at least one order of magnitude more difficult than throwing an axe. It's not even a penalty situation either, just "not going to happen".

Check the Vindicator kit from the 2E book of Dwarves. He is basically a Battlerager/Cleric Multi-class. The description also explicitly states that a vindicator cannot cast spells while raging.
