Equipping Multiple Holy Symbols. Also: +12 Hackmaster?

My small question is that Lilacor sometimes said that his brother was a +12 hackmaster. What is a +12 hackmaster?
My big question is that if your main char is an evil cleric, and you got your holy symbol and Viconia got hers too, can you equip both the holy symbol on your main char?

About your other question:
I thinks so; as long as the restriction is: 'only usable by priest of Talos', it should work.

It might be like the protection items, you might only be able to use one pre character.

 

I wonder if the ease of use mod would let you use two holy symbols?

There's no such thing as a +12 hackmaster. Presumably, if there were such a thing, a +12 hackmaster would be a weapon of sorts that gave a bonus of 12 to hit and 12 to damage, so yes, if such a weapon existed it would be extremely powerful. Typically, the greatest enchantment you can get on weapons is +5. ToB is the first game I have ever seen that implemented a +6 weapon. A +12 weapon is pure fiction.

As far as using two holy symbols, I don't see any reason why you could not. Mages are allowed to wear two rings (even of the same type) that increase the number of spells they know, so I don't see why it would be a big deal for a cleric to do the same. I've never tried though, so I can't say for sure.

 

I've done it before, and there's no problem with doing it. YOu don't have to be a specialty Priest of Talos, either -- simply being evil is sufficient. I've done similar things with Anomen and Aerie -- once Anomen has been changed to LG by his quest and then in ToB gets his symbol, you can either give his symbol to Aerie or give hers to him. I often give his to Aerie because the strength bonus is wasted on him if he is using Crom Faeyr.
On a similar note, you can get tons of holy symbols due to a glitch. If a cleric is petrified, then restored, they get another holy symbol! If you are very unfortunate and tend to get your NPCs petrified frequently, you can end up with bails of holy symbols without ever cracking the console!

 

Ah yes the +12 Hackmaster. Noone has ever read the Knights of the Dinner Table in Dragon Magazine? I don't know if it was a +12 but i believe it was Brian that had it. For those of that have never read this comic, http://www.mud.co.uk/richard/kodt.htm (this is just a few to get you started.)

 

Accualy you can have two holy symbols sometimes(bug! and cheesy) .. I've written a topic about it before, use search.. Lilacor hasn't had a formal edumacation as he sais...=)

 

There is no +12 Hackmaster in Baldur's Gate 2, no matter how hard you search in the game.... Except if you search in the right places or ask the right people

I remember downloading a +12 Hackmaster somewhere, but I can't remember where, in order to provide you with a link. You may want to try http://arundor.cjb.net/ as it has a lot of custom items, but I can't remember exactly if it has a +12 Hackmaster as well. If you can't find it, send me a message and I'll send you the one I downloaded a year ago.

 

Pyroashani is correct; the +12 hackmaster is indeed a reference to the Knights of the Dinner Table comic strip. It's a weapon weilded by Dave, or more appropriately, his character El Ravager the ranger. They have daily strips on their site www.kenzerco.com .
