Heheh, I've been thinking about that, too. Something like The Mother's Kiss. You know, when you fell on the street, you run to your mother and she would give you a comforting kiss on the place where it hurts. You didn't feel anything after... Can't come up with a good story though. :heh:

I still enjoy my creation of Faragon's Companion, yet I'll have to admit ... Elves definitely got the short stick in that one. And since Taza requested a healing item for Rallymama ...

Rallymama's Bracers, "Compassion of the Seldarine"

Many are the paths to achievement in elven society, whether it be simple song and poetry or valour in battle. Rallymama was an accomplished master of the bow, the blade, and the Art.

Elven historians conclude that what drove her to such a high level of martial prowess was that while still an infant, she lost her whole family to those eternal enemies of elven-kind, the orcs.

Indeed, she was known to have hunted down and slaughtered entire clans of orcs by herself. She would take out their witch doctors and shamans with her bow and her spells. The warriors wouldn't fare much better. Many were slain by her hit and run tactics, which were augmented by her use of illusions. The fewer still that survived long enough for her illusions to wear off were doomed. Rallymama would reveal herself, skin overlaid with a granite-like covering, blade in hand, and ready to deliver the coup-de-grace.

While her elven compatriots admired her skill, both they and the Seldarine noted with alarm that her soul was in danger of being consumed by dark vengeance. A priest of Corellon Larethian presented her with a pair of golden bracers. She asked how they would improve her skill in battle. He replied, "They won't, my lady. Their use and their merit, you must discover on your own." Though perplexed, she accepted the gift in accordance with the ethical standards of elven kind.

One day, she would come upon a group of elves that had been waylaid by the orcs. She was too late to intervene. Many had died, and many more were injured or dying. It was then that she thought upon the priest's words. She used her bracers to heal all who could be saved.

The message carried by her bracers went to her heart. It was afterwards that she accepted her role as a stalwart defender of the innocent, elven or otherwise, and turned away from being a ruthless and aggressive avenger. Finally, when she heard the call, she was ready. The Seldarine would welcome her with open arms to Arvandor.

    Lol Far!

Btw: This was my creation of Rallymama's item. I like yours btw. And the funny thing is that I was thinking of some healing bracers, too!

    Rallymama's Embracing Arms

Deep in Cormanthor, an Elven community had suffered the great loss of their loved ones. As their Drow cousins sacked and pillaged their villages time and again, slaying many of the Fair-Folk, it seemed that the Sildarins had left them in their pityfull state. Many believed that heaven had forsaken them, but for some in particular, the Sildarins were also gods you could count on in times of sorrow.
Rallymama, a charismatic Silver-elf with a good sense of where help was most needed, was such a person. She cared for her people, comforting them with a hug or a stroke on the head.
She spent much time in boosting her companions' morale and taking care of their wounds, telling them to walk tall and keep faith.
The elven goddess Angharradh had noticed Rallymama's spiritual strength and decided to help the woman with her mission by giving her a gleaming set of silver bracers of no small healing powers, adorned with gems and artfull carvings, like Angharradh had always liked it that way, herself.

    What about some armour

    Taza's Revenge Full Plate +6

Taza was a great and aweinspiring man. He was also a great craftsman, he would create and sell all kinds of magical and custom items for friends using thier exact specifications.

One day a Djinni by the name of Niramue moved his shop from Calamshan to right next door to Taza.

At the beginning it was a matter of friendly competition, but it got feircer and fiercer. The Djinni always topping whatever Taza did. He made a grand sword "Taluntain" and the Djinni topped it by making a sword that destroyed it.

On a sunday morning when all was quiet, Taza came up with and idea of defeating him once and for all.He needed a weakness and remembered hearing Niramue had been to an inn after a long battle with theives but immediately left becuase it smelt bad.

When the Djinni had returned to his shop on the following sunday, Taza presented him with a grand suit of armour. Fit for a king, it was encrusted with jewels of every description and crafted with the finest of materials. So awed by this Niramue immediately put it on, it was the most lightweight armour he had ever wore and it was impenetrable by almost any weapon.

Later when Niramue was entranced by an emerald on the chest he touched it and it sprayed a stinking cloud on his face making him gag. When he tried to take it off it was stuck, when he tried using a remove curse spell nothing happened! he ran out on to the street asking people to help him but as soon as they turned their heads and started chasing him away, down Main street and out of town.

When the villagers coaght up with him they stabbed and prodded and hacked and slashed screaming "evil!"
it was only an hour later when he was still alive did something seem out of place. He could not die! he felt the pain of every slash and the stink of the cloud that kept spurting out and he would not die.
Meanwhile back at the village Taza watched more and more people run down the road after the Djinni, all the while with a smug grin on his face.
Eventually because of the stink the villagers went away, thoroughly convinced they had gotten rid of the evil man.
Rumours still exist of beings running into the same cursed armour but leaving it well alone.

Public Announcement: After PMs with Taza, he's explained to me that he's been really pressed for time of late, but plans on seeing this project through. In the meantime, I've been asked to look at the older item descriptions to see if any improvements can be made, and add new ones when I can.

    In the meantime ...

    The Everfull Chalice, "Chevalier's Boon"

Tyr's was a relatively new faith within Realmspace. Yet it is a remarkable fact that his flock of worshippers grew with an almost frightening rapidity. His rise to the status of a greater power of Faerun was indeed meteoric.

One explanation for this was that the people of Faerun became disenchanted with Amaunator's conception of the law as a tool to preserve order for order's own sake. After the fall of Netheril, the way was open for Tyr to assert himself. The people of Faerun readily accepted his new vision of the law as something that exists for the benefit, the protection, and the good of all people everywhere, no matter how poor, or how uncultured.

Of course, sages are quick to point out that this can't be the only explanation. Any deity that seeks to carve a place for himself in the Faerunian pantheon needs champions who will exemplify his portfolio in the eyes of would-be worshippers.

Tyr was no exception. Chevalier des-trois was indeed one of Tyr's early champions. Chevalier was one of the first instructors on the laws that would be integral to Tyr's rising faith. His roles as a teacher and magistrate aside, Chevalier had also been a powerful paladin who was just as likely to been seen on the battlefield or the adventurer's dungeon, as he was in the classroom or the courts.

This plain wooden cup was apparently carried by him at all times. The forces of evil would often discover to their dismay that simply by drinking from the cup, Chevalier would be healed of all wounds, fully invigorated, and deadlier than ever.
Tyr will only allow those who share his ideals of justice to partake of the infinite draught offered by the cup.

Useable only by: lawful good characters
    Equip in the quick-item slot.
    Heal 3 times a day
    Greater restoration once a day
remove fatigue 3 times a day

( this item description contains a not so cryptic reference to Chevalier being a law student, and his obscene love of caffeine)

    Aldeth's Mallet of Thinking

Stone Giants are often of a contemplative or meditative nature. Aldeth was more so than the rest of his kind.

He was a solitary figure who kept to himself within the confines of his immense cave in the heart of a mountain. Rumours of his cave, and the treasure contained within, would occassionally reach the ears of would be bandits and pillagers.

When they arrived, expecting furious battle at the outset, they were usually in for quite a surprise. Aldeth loved to bombard visitors, bandit or otherwise, with endless discussions on the nature of the cosmos, the history of Faerun, recent goings-on, philosophy, and just about anything else his ever-active mind became curious about. Bandits and looters often left his cave pondering among themselves the numerous subjects they had been discussing with Aldeth, forgetting what had brought them to the cave to begin with.

For those who were still set on satisfying their greed, they were in for an altogether different surprise. This incredibaly large mallet is a powerful enough weapon in its own right, but was even more so in the hands of the long-lived Stone Giant.

    Two-handed
    Weapon Proficiency: War Hammer
    THAC0 bonus: +4
    Damage: 2d10 +4
    -2 penalty to Armor Class
    Weight: 50 pounds
    Strenght requirement: 21 or more
    +2 intelligence
50% chance of an extra 1d10 blunt damage
25% chance of stunning the target (save vs. spell at -2)

    ( a reference to Aldeth's status as SP's resident pollmeister )

Shura, "The True Blade of Chaos"

This two-handed sword is an effort on the part of Cyric, Prince of Lies, to provide his faithful with a weapon comparable to the Holy Avengers blessed by the Triad. It is ebony black, as though forged from the very stuff of Pandemonium itself, with a violet tinge where light should be reflecting from its surface. Even to look upon it will send a shudder of fear down the spine of any but the most malevolent of beings.

For many years, it was wielded by an itinerant warrior in service to Cyric. Many of Faerun's villains attempt to hide their true colours beneath a veneer of respectability. Not so the wielder of Shura. It was often reported that he step brazenly to the front steps of temples dedicated to such gods as Tyr, Torm, Helm, Sune, and Chauntea. He would then openly declaim that the fate of Faerun was to be crushed beneath the heel of Cyric, with himself at his god's right hand. He would then issue the challenge, to either challenge his statement through combat, or to accept his statement as truth by hiding like cowards behind the doors. More often than not, his challenge was not met. The odd time that it was, the unfortunate brave discovered the very potent power of his weapon.

How this mysterious warrior became separated from his blade, and his current whereabouts, remain unkown.

    Useable: Chaotic Evil only
    THAC0: +5, +10 vs. lawful good
    Damage: 1d10 +5, +10 vs. lawful good
    +50% magic resistance
each hit, the target must save vs. spell at -4 or become confused
    Dispel Magic 5x a day

( a reference to Shura's openly stated preference to roleplay evil-doers in his games)

    What about this?
    Blazing Sky, sword of Skywind:
The human ranger known as Skywind used to wield this blade. But after a major battle against a great balor together with other rangers and clerics, he found 2 very powerful evil blades in the lair of the balor. He couldn't resist the temptation of wielding the two blades and as a result, he became a fallen ranger. It was said that Skywind later left the Blazing Sky in his childhood village and went away to find a way to redempt himself and at the same time fight evil that he encountered. In the end Skywind only successed in redempting himself, but also manage to win the battle of will against his 2 evil blades, gaining full control of the 2 blades. When he returned to his village as a ranger, he gifted a young lad who wanted to be a ranger the Blazing Sky. How it was removed from the young lad was anyone's guess.
    Equipped effect:
    +1 attack per round
    +1 THACO
    Weapon Proficiency: two-handed sword
    THAC0 bonus: +4
    Damage: 2d10 +4
with each hit, target must save vs. spell at -2 or suffer a +2 thaco penalty due to the wind generated by Blazing Sky

Not "really pressed" , actually. Just a bit sick and a lots of work to do. I tried to do too many things at the same time, and i got nothing done. After that, i lost connection when we moved and i got it back a week ago.

But this project is resurrected. I need the help of the knight of the everfull chalice with making the *.itm files, and Beren seems to be great with dialogue.

    Q&A
Q: When this mod is finished? A: When it's ready.
Q: Can i help? A: Yes, we need testers.
Q: Can i make my own items? A: That's what this thread is for. (But i need good descriptions)

And i might have some trouble making that fatigue removal...

When old Edoran Tetyrian was 76 years old he got suddenly ill. Death came and whispered him each night as death do every time a living creature is dying. But Edoran wasnt ready yet.
The first two visits he refused to give into the whisper. And before the third visit he made a spell that would trap the whisper, so when death whispered, Edoran casted the spell and trapped the whisper inside a king's tear. The next day he went to a powerful smith and had him enchant the katana with the tear.
Thus Death's Whisper was forged and the katana given extraordinary specialities, though since most undead is creatures of immortality unless they are slayed, Death's Whisper cannot harm them.
Later, however, Edoran finally died, slayed by an unknown enemy, and Death's Whisper was lost. Recently Death's Whisper have found it's way into Taluntains store. How?, nobody knows.

    Hope this is ok :)

    How about this then:

    Elvenblade

    Short Sword +5
    Improved invisibility 3/day
    Backstab multiplier +2x
20% cance to drain 2 levels every hit
    +2 dexterity on wearer

Little is known aboutthis sword other than it's most noteable owner was Elvenblade the elven assasin. Elvenblade originated from The Severed Hand but now travels up and down Faerun hiring out his skill to the highest bidder. Most noteable about Elvenblade is that he has never been caught and some has even started to call him "The shadow".

Hopefully no one minds that I humbly add my item to this list, being a member only for so short. Its just an attempt anyway...

Horn of Dendri "End to Pride"

In times ago a young jester known to some by the name of Dendri made it his goal to prove the worth of the bardic profession. Having suffered the smug bragging of brutish louts for too long, he convinced Phenos *the Magnificant*, a palladin of no small repute, to take him into his band of heroes.

Alas, strife for Dendri just would not end with this, for Letek, the mage of the party, deemed a bards magics to be rather pathetic. Unable to beat the bard with words he challenged him into an arcane combat. Only the intervention of Phenos *the Magnificant* saved the jester. Dendri pretended to accept this lesson in humility.

A chance for revenge presented itself during their travels when Dendri met an elf who was highly skilled in fashioning music instruments. The elf was talked and bribed into the creation of a horn, which then was infused with the magic consuming abilities of a Nishruu summoned by Dendri.

The opportunity to strike at Letek came when Phenos received a call from the Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heart in Athkathla where magic users arent all that welcome. Both Dendri and Letek stayed at their camp outside the City, while the rest of the band accompanied Phenos.
Dendri attacked the mage without hesitation. The horn drained Leteks highest spells and robbed him of his edge over the seething bard. A vicious fight ensued. When Phenos and his friends returned all they found was scourched earth and the smouldering corpse of Letek. Dendri himself had fled to escape their wrath.

    Horn of Dendri
    ~ useable once per day
Drains three of the highest spells of the target.
If target fails to save vs. spell an additional two spells of the second highest spell level will be drained.
~ ability while equipped: + 10% magic resistance

Well, a bit longer in the story department than I had planned. ;)

Yep, your name must be in the name of the weapon, or the desc must be really great.

Long descs are a good thing.

    @Elvenblade
That's almost perfect. I just remove the typos from it and i can use it. :rolling:

    DePaara's Staff of Faith

While most cleric/mages in the realms tend to use any blunt weapon, as a show of his devotion to the supremecy of magic, Lord Keldin DePaara chose to follow the strictures of both mages and clerics in his weapon selection, leaving the staff as the only weapon he could wield. The Hidden God took note of this fanatical devotion to magic, and created this stave to aid his only servant in his travels throughout the Realms.
