I do, actually. I made a topic in the ToB section called "Extreme Choppiness", but noone has replied to it yet. :( It was weird for me, because I'd just played the SoA part only 2 or so weeks ago.

Do you have patches installed? I may be a little paranoid, but I install SOA, then the SOA patch, then ToB and finally the ToB patch. The Baldurdash fix pack is recommended but not required.

I've been playing on a P3 733 MHz system and haven't had any problems.

That's the thing though... mine's a 1.8 GHz machine and it's all choppy. In fact, I think I beat all of the system requirements.

That's wierd. I've run BG2 on a P3 450 with 384 MB RAM, WinXP (Resource hog), and a TNT2 and it works just fine.

I'd guess that you've got TSRs running that are eating up resources (it should still work fine on your rig, though).

Terminate and Stay Resident, an old acronym from DOS days. Basically it means anything that sits around in your memory hogging space.

Oh. I don't have anything open aside from BGII.

DrinkUp- While this won't solve the choppiness, the "appears busy" problem can be solved by getting the patch from Bioware & the Baldurdash patch. :)

Edit- Also, have you tried playing the SoA part with ToB installed? We might have the same problem.

Check in the BG Config program whether you have enabled Hardware accelaration. If you have, try switching it off and playing the game. If not...go CTRL+ALT+DEL and remove EVERYTHING you dont need to run Windows and BG2...if that doesn't sort it out for you...format your HDD and re-install everything.
