Felinoid my comment wasn't for you but for the others so they could understand what you mean by Xan like. Not all of them may play BG or have used Xan.

 

Even though I did it not more than a week ago I honestly can't remember how I did the Keldorn thing, but I was SOOO not doing his quest.

I don't know about how you plan to go through the game, but it might also be a good idea to run the quests you actually plan to take in an order so that #1 if you take edwin you never have to do the nether scrolls quest, and #2 if you take Keldorn you never have to go to the government district while he's in your party.

I'm sure there's other chars you might be able to pull this off with, but that is of course, doing a lot of work out of game .

Likewise if you created a multi-game you could have occasional 'friends' stop-by, (random players at random times), or just another PC or 2 which for sure won't require any quests. (You could transfer the games from MP to Single as well. Just consider the PC chars you added as 'mod' chars you created in a fraction of the time, that just plain don't require any work at all haha).

I almost do this 'MEH' party everytime I play. I start off thinking, "I'll get these members and do their quests and blah blah YEAH!!" and follow up by grabbing SOME of them, and kinda sorta doing their quests, and eventually grabbing the rest, (May or may not be before or after major quests), which makes be a few levles behind, (anywhere from 0-10. Lol.)

Oo and lastly, (sorry this is getting looong). Try grabbing everyone you run into and when they start bugging you, blow them off. Tell them you're not going to waste your time. That would be the real 'MEH' attitude right? Just a thought .

Short memory have you? Pretty much everything you suggested has already been suggested, including one by you previously. Though I'm seriously considering doing a Druid PC with an MP-created F/M/C NPC and Keldorn by this point. We'll see.

I don't think "meh" is an acronym, I think it's just the sound somebody who doesn't care about something, but needs to responds somehow makes.

 

It's not an acronym. I heard it somewhere a few years back and ever since I've been usin' it enough people around me started just sayin' "meh". It does have meaning, it's just not a word.

 

Yes; it originated on the Simpsons as far as I know, but I've been trying to think of what it could stand for. If it really bothers you all that much, though, I can always go back and change the first post.

 

I'm still not sure I understand the meaning of "MEH" but if the rest of you understand it, then that's OK.

 

@HB and others who don't know - Meh as defined by the Urban Dictionary. Think of it as the 'I don't care' party.

Does anyone know where I might get Cassius? Two of the CoM download links lead nowhere, and the other takes a few minutes before telling me it doesn't have it.

Hmm. You know, I dismissed him at first because of the whole Deherianna thing, but at a second glance I think it doesn't happen if you're romancing him. Must check further...

An F/M/D would be absolutely perfect with this group, but the stupid engine isn't set up for it. Still looking for a druid or a bard, I guess. *sigh* Kivan's got the spot over Keldorn though, which would make my PC female to romance him.

I just found Cassius...
...on my own hard drive. It seems I downloaded him a long time ago and never used or deleted him. I finally rediscovered the file while getting set to help someone who was having problems with the Palace movie in BG1 looping. So, the final setup is:

Ya know, if you want to be a real stickler to your own rules, Immy has a quest in BG2 (although it's impossible to beat the game without doing her quest).

Like I said before, it's on the way. I'm going after Irenicus, and Imoen just happens to be there. I pick her up, and she doesn't ask anything else. (Bodhi dies for my purposes, not hers.) And I'll dump Yoshimo's heart off at a Temple to Ilmater whenever I happen to pass one (they do seem to be in high-traffic areas).

The same applies to Yeslick and Xan in BG1. Sure, they're imprisoned and need to be freed, but they're in places I was going anyways. By the time I'm finished with my stuff there, they're already free. "Fine, you can come with me, but just don't bother me." Minsc in BG2 is even easier; you just tell him you're not going to help him, and he breaks out on his own and gives you credit for it!

 

I have to ask - who's Cassius and what does he do?

You can find him in the Mithrest Inn in Waukeen's Promenade. He has two custom items: a set of +4 studded leather that gives him +15 lore (though still prevents spell-casting, of course, so he's not going to be wearing it most of the time), and a cloak that somehow gives him +20% to his Pick Pockets ability. ToB required, with a "*25.cre" version for ToB, but no ToB content as of yet. Unsure if he's summonable through the Fate Spirit.

Unfortunately, the download links don't work. 2 send you to sites that are gone, and the one that's left claims it doesn't have the file after making you sit in a queue for it.
