I juz passed by The beholder cult quest... to my horror... there's beholders almost everywhere in the lair.

Mine's a solo assasin... backstab wont work on'em. Lvl 21... cant use nishruu either... I tried proceeding slowly, taking down one by one with sling of everard. Sometimes it works, sometimes all beholders come charging at me.

They dont like to move... traps r hard to be full of their potential. Cloak of mirroring, Scroll of Protection from Magic... all tried.

I'd use Iron horn and spider figurine as meatshield... but need resting often. Any better idea?

What I would do is pick up Keldorn and equip him with the Shield of Balduran (reflects beholder rays back at the source). Then after all the beholders are dead, kick him out of the party. :rolling:

Heh that totally takes any of the fun or challenge out of soloing if you pick up an NPC every time you need one. ;)

Can you leave the area? When you hit level 24, and you are not far off it, you get UAI. Then go grab the Shield of Balduran of Deidre at Ribald's and then Bhaal's your father... :p

I don't really understand that you are a low-level thief  Since you got the cloak of mirroring you should have been to the Underdark. And then you cannot be that low-level.(Unless you're a cheater)

Oops, sori i didnt mention it. When i was frustrated and dead of ideas, i pulled out CLUA to take out Cloak of Mirroring juz to do this job. I'd just need it on the dirty job.

I've even turn myself to Mustard Jelly which someone mention that its 100% immune to magic... but i guess the info is wrong then...

I would really like to complete the job me alone... but it doesnt seem possible... so i walked away... knowing that there's something i cant take out of, i vowed a revenge and pray that those beholders will still be there when i get UAI.

I turned my head and just before i leave, i told'em... "I'll be back."

Just do the top level of WK. Easily enough XP around to sort out the required levels.

    Just a thought anyway.

What about just sneaking past them? There's no reason why you _have_ to kill them all.

If I remember correctly there are several potions that grant magic resistance for sale, also the rare scrolls of anti magic (only two in the game) can be used for this. You could also get the staff of fire (can't quite remember were it is found) and summon fire elementals to do the trick. Hope this helps!

    Welcome to the boards.

Yeah, thanks. I bought the scrolls already... i would try the potions then.

Well there's only some question about ego and dignity... would you walk away, knowing that there's something you cant finish?

    Yeah, i know... nobody's perfect :)
