I am asking on here because the site this is one has people who aren't exactly that interested...

Daie and I, and Deathmage and friends are putting this together, however we have a slight problem or three.

1) The dialogues that *were* put together have either been deleted or destroyed by annoying little people.

2) Daie has dissapeared and only appears from hibernation very rarely.

3) we have very few ideas for this.

Dragoneye and Dm-Realms need you, people of Sp, to come up with some ideas and dialogues for this mod. I will be transferring ideas from here to DMs forums and vice versa, so please post here any ideas, or PM me.

But I really want to get this done and out of the way so I can move onto my other mods and have the knowledge of one less thing to do

 

First things first, only MALE Dwarves, Halflings and Gnomes can have the relationship with Mazzy (they are a little [oh I'm so funny...] deprived).

Put the PC in direct competition with Korgan, Korgan will actually fight you eventually if he thinks you're moving onto 'his woman'. However in the battle if you get Korgan to 25% health Mazzy steps in and begs him to stop. Korgan does and gives a gruff apology then the decision falls upon the PC to do one of four things.
Kill Korgan for attacking him (romance ends)
Forgive Korgan, Korgan stops making moves on Mazzy and Korgan's alignment changes to Neutral Evil (romance continues)
Kick Korgan from the party due to obvious strife between party members (romance continues)
Kick Mazzy from the party since player character values his 'friendship' with Korgan more than Mazzy - might want to put a bit of humor into Korgan's reply to this decision, possibly make him concern some doubts about the player character's sexuality (romance ends)

For SoA the romance doesn't continue till ToB because Mazzy still has feelings for Patrick and she doesn't want the player character to get the wrong idea about her. She thinks she loves the player character however she is scared that she doesn't and just wants some comfort to get over her loss.

Continues in ToB much like all the other female romances - she realises that you only live once and after having time to think she is over Patrick and she did love you. However the player character must be of good alignment.

 

So basically something along the lines of the Aerie/Haer'Dalis/PC love triangle?

I think that Mazzy is only going to romance good aligned characters andway, and only the shorter races can romance her. And Males, obviously.

if *anybody* else has suggestions, please please please, post them up!

 

I'm not creative by any measure, but how about letting her join the Radiant Heart?

 

A Mazzy romance would be a nice change of pace. Let's see....

While the PC and party are slogging their way through the Underdark, Bodhi returns to Athkatla. She ambushes a party from the Radiant Heart and turns them into vampires to reinforce her brood.

When the PC returns to Athkatla in chapter 6 he/she is approached by Sir Ryan Trawl who asks for help in putting to rest those turned by Bodhi.

Possibly add some extra vamps to the fight in the lair to represent the Radiant Heart group. When Bodhi is defeated return to Sir Ryan for typically stingy reward. If Mazzy is in the group she could be offered the opportunity to become a fully pladged paladin (drum roll please )

Since there is already an inquisitor NPC and cavaliers lose all missile proficiencies she might become an undead hunter ?

I don't see how Bhodi would be able to assault the radient heart at all. Not only is it in the temple district but the big statue of Torm kind'a indicates its also a temple. One Paladin could defend it against an army of undead since the link to Torm, god of Paladins would be so strong.

Anyway, she 'can't' join the Order. It's human's only and the Order are known for being bigots. Unless you 'want' to change some of the rules, maybe have Keldorn vouch for her and if the PC is a Cleric of L. or H. who has completed the Cleric Stronghold quest the PC could vouch for her. Maybe she could squire under Keldorn, the PC or even to put a sadistic twist to the thing: Anomen to teach him tolerance and respect.

Perhaps when it comes her day to be knighted Torm himself makes an appearance at the Order to discuss the important change of events with Mazzy and see if she is deserving. If Nalia is in the party she is outraged by the inequality and even has a yell at Torm.

 

For me, part of Mazzy's charm comes from her living up to unobtainable ideals and giving her an option to join the Radiant Heart would defeat that IMHO. Being recognized as a peer, or perhaps simply honored by them would probably serve the purpose much better.

I was considering having the taller races avaliable for Mazzy too and not just the short trio. Dwarves/Halflings are kind of uncommon, no? Then again, her romancing a human paladin would be odd.

Maybe because nobody's really thought about Dwarves and Halflings? Maybe if we include elves or something?

 

I'm sorry but this is sounding a bit like a German porn film now. Can we at least keep the midgets to themselves? The thought of a human/elf/half-orc with a halfling lass reminds me of many child sex-offender cases we've had recently in the news in New Zealand.

 

Why not make it that by some occurance or another Mazzy is asked to join/granted honoury membership to the Radiant Heart but she declines on the grounds that she is already a dedicated follower of Avoreen. Then an Avatar of Avoreen appears and grants her unique paladin-like special abilitis. Chance for a paladin subclass, and maybe a new Weapon. Of course you as the supporting companion that you are give her guidance throughout this, and this strengthens the relationship.

 

Abomination - half-Orc was totally out of the question, humans and half-elves I didn't really think suitable. And nobody has mention Mazzy having sex with half-orcs or anything so I don't see how you think this mod is turning into porn.

Mazzy already has paladin-like abilites. She can only use them on herself though. She has already said that she has accepted the fact she cannot be a paladin.

I can't really picture the Radiant Heart offerering her place, though an improved weapon might be an idea.

hmm, this thread has already given me a couple of ideas, I might post a couple of sample dialogues when I've written some.

 

No, no. No Radiant heart. That wouldn't be right. Nor anything with Torm coming down, that's just to far fetched.

I also think that it would be good to have the larger races been able to romance her as well. She has a big personality so why not romance a bigger character.

I don't think a triangle would be a good idea either, as that's already been done.

I'll think of something soon, probably stupid but I'll think of an idea.

 

I don't think triangle would work, however Korgan would probably tease Mazzy and the PC quite a lot. Also, you've got to wonder *why* Mazzy and Korgan would be in the same party anyway. Why?

 

A question: why would Mazzy beg Korgan and not charname to stop the fight? If she cried something like 'oh charname, don't kill him', fine. But begging Korgan? Who's Korgan for her to beg him to save his own life? Is she all so much concerned with Korgan in this particular conflict (she's supposed to romance the PC, isn't she?) or preventing a possibly avoidable kill as an LG should? In the latter case she would definitely address charname. At least so far as begging is concerned. It would be different if she just told him to stop or something.

 

@Chev, it's because Korgan initiated the fight. Charname is just defending himself. Thats why Korgan gets the choice. If Korgan stopped attacking Charname the choice is given to Charname to do the number of things suggested. Kill (or at least attempt to kill), Kick out Korgan, Forgive Korgan, Kick out Mazzy. Korgan would do what Mazzy says because Korgan is head-over-heels for Mazzy. Frankly I think she's got the nicest face of all the NPCs. If she was OVER 4 feet tall I'm sure she'd be a hottie.

 

How much sould I spoil in a thread such as this? Just that as it's a question of Mazzy lore, recounting and inventing it, then I would suggest some of you went and played the game through with her. Not to be too obvious but the matter of paladin-hood is resolved in the game already.

My opinions in general would be the following (no dialogues here, if you want just dialogues then skip this part):

-Ditch Korgan right out of it all. Although I can't say wether it fits his nature or not (because Korgan isn't a deep enough personality in the game to justify the claims of people who think they can say exactly what he is, and isn't, like), I know that most Korgan fans like him as the sour sarcastic emotionless killer. No need to change other good NPC's that obviously wouldn't have much to do with the romance anyway. Too many mods seem to forget they should add to the story, not deprive from it. Therefore every good mod adds more to discover, but doesn't change the material already there just to better fit the mod-creator's visions and almost unavoidably go farther away from what the gamers would prefer.

-Don't make the romance a challenge. There's nothing fun to be had in misleading dialogues, browsing the net for hints and walktroughs on what to do to get the romance working. All the while wondering if it's yet another one of the maker's twisted views of how every damn woman is playing a multi-personality hard-to-get type, or then just another bug. It's a romance for chris' sake, not a pop quiz. If you act sensibly and make it clear to Mazzy you're interested in her, you should get it through. Note that this doesn't mean the romance should be simple dialogue-wise. Just logical, and above all fun.

-Keep the romance dialogue 'neutral' -ish in the same fashion as the original ones. Good, realistic and intelligent dialogue that doesn't go too far to the soapish 'Bold and the Beautiful' (much as Imoen Romance, although its creator did admit to liking about talking a lot.. talking a lot is ok, but when the quality is replaced by content, it's not) side, but doesn't cut too short as to leave an impression of an unfinished project either.

-Add proper flirting options just as in the flirtpacks. The ability to take a seemingly active hand in the development of the romance can be far more important than a few pre-scripted events and a couple of lines of well-invented dialogue. As many options as possible, included. That means, offer the subtle means for those who like them, and the more straightforward, even pervert tactics, to those who like them more.

 

I wasn't going to include Korgan much, I thought that he might tease Mazzy a bit as he seems to like making fun of her.

And I don't know about Daie and Deathmage - but I have played through with Mazzy in my party.

If Deathmage or Daie wanted to include Mazzy as a paladin I would have argued against it to the end.

I try and keep all my mods in tone with the game, nothing ridiculously out of place and I try and keep it in the same pattern and language as the game (but writing with American spelling might be confusing, so forgive me if I write it in British English)

If I need to write flirts I will have to download the flirtpacks, something that seems quite... strange... from what I've read about it.

 

Good for ye Keep Mazzy as she is: arrogant way too much goody-two-shoes (that's why I never have her in my party)

Annoying, isn't it? People who have promised to help in the job disappearing just after a few sessions... Has happened once or twice to me too.

Anyway, some possible dialogue:

"Of course he has never complained, my odorous-dwarf; he stays at the better side of the wind." (could refer in later dialogues to Mazzy's side: Mazzy vs. Korgan)
"Gel, I don't like of yer tone... My hand itches to put an axe to it."
"Maybe you should put 'an axe' first to your fleas and stenching arse; then I might take that seriously. Until then, <Player> has need for us both."
"Ye just wait for that day..."
