Game Always Crashes in the Same Place! Please Help!

ive rebooted my computer,installed and then erased all mods, reinstaled the game in diferent windows of dif. versions, and played all over again (over 4 times) to the point where you kill yaga shura and melisan tells you to go to amektran, and when you kill some guards and try to go to amektran (the skull face of loading after auto save for the change of maps) it ALWAYS kicks me out of the program and closes it!
ive come to think that the file of amektran in my tob disc is corrupt but i cant be sure, ANY info about this will be GREATLY apreciated, as its my favorite game and i can never pass that point no matter the many things ive tried.

It is pretty much obvious that you CD is faulty. If you want to be completely sure, install it on another PC and check.

 

There's another possibility. What are the specs on your PC? It's possible that your machine is simply too weak to run that massive battle.

 

I presume you have not done a full install. Have you got the patch and have you done full install? As mentioned before what are your specs and have you managed to get past this point before. How long ago did it start crashing and had you done anything around or before that time. Do you have Shadowkeeper and have you used it.

 

My pc is capable of running the program with all the effects and maxium quality, it can even run smootly windowed, i have done a full install and have all patches (latest), and the game closes and kicks me when the battle is over, (running smootly) as always i loot the bodies and try to continue my way to amektran, (remember you cant enter the city for the first time unless you fight those guys, soldiers sent by the king), and then the game crashes, and what is shadow keeper?,
My problem is not solved, but neverless i thank you for taking the time to try to help, and i will appreciate any info regarding this.

 

You don't have to fight those guys, you can just mass invisibility and run across the Oasis (but what fun is that?)

Is your machine capable of running Acension with all the Improved Bosses? If so, then that's probably not the problem.

 

Does the program completely close on its own, or are you dumped back into windows with a blank, non-responsive window the size of your BG2 window? If so I may have a solution.

 

YES! i am dumped out of the complete screen mode, and see a blank windowed screen! then the preogram becomes non-responsive.
If you have a posible solution i would love to hear it, i will certainly try it out.

 

done that but still happens the same, i even turned off the weather effects.

Sorry for the delay. What is happening is the game is trying to load a non-existant file. (You'll see this often sometimes when you have 10+ mods installed. )

Anyway, you'll need to clarify: which area is loading when it crashes, Amektran or the oasis before it? From the sounds of it, you're at the oasis.

Does that mean you had reinstalled the mods and it still crashed? Or does this mean you uninstalled them afterwards and it crashed without them? Simply put: without any presense of any mods does it still crash?

Also your CD must be fine, or the installation would have failed if it is indeed a full one.

 

i am in the oasis, i kill everyone, and it crashes, when i try to load amektran.
i have tried to pass the amektran part both with, and without every mod, this means i played with mods the first time, the error ocurred, then i reinstalled without any mods and played all the way again, and still happened.

 

I would recommend trying another reinstall, this time go to your BG folder and delete anything the uninstaller left behind (except savegames). I'm not entirely certain, but I believe your override folder is left intact after an uninstall. Make sure that is deleted, as I'm almost certain it is something in there that is causing your problem. Then reinstall and run without mods.

The one other possibility is that something in your savegame might be trying to find something that doesn't exist as well. Once the reinstall I recommened is complete, if the error still occurs, load the game in Shadowkeeper. If you can access all information panes for all party characters then it is not the save.

 

when i said i reinstalled i mean i deleted MANUALLY ALL the files,

Shadowkeeper is, primarily, a savegame editor. You can find it elsewhere on this site.

Did that work? If its still crashing, try moving your party to Amkethran using the console.
