    [IMG] I Have BG2 SOa and ToB, and play on Gamespy. I like having ToB, for the Mods, yet I'd like to also join SOA games for those who don't have ToB. I obviously can't join SoA Games due to Patch version conflicts. I've heard that there's a method to do 2 separate installs, having 1 install without ToB, and both installs patched. I can go as far as doing a full install with ToB patched, and can install SoA in a different file path, yet cannot patch the SoA install. I'd really like to know how. Thx

    Erm i'not quite sure how thats possible. Maybe if you have two different hard drives in your pc, and installing the game on either one might work.

    Try using the search feature. try "dual install" and maybe "multi install".

    I've got patched SoA and ToB running concurrently. (Well, OK, I actually have six installs of BG2 in various states, but the following will accomplish your goal.) In order, here's how:

    1. Install SoA.
    2. Patch SoA.
    3. (optional) Install Baldurdash for SoA.
    4. Clone your install. The original install will become ToB, while the clone will become your SoA install.
    5. Install ToB.
    6. Patch ToB.
    7. (optional) Install Baldurdash for ToB.

    The original folder is now your Throne of Bhaal installation, and your cloned folder is SoA. Tada!

    It would be interesting to use this trick in order to play BG1 tutu... If I get it right that means that SK would only work with the first install?

    If you're doing a full install, that would take up quite a bit of disk space. Tell the players that only have SoA to get ToB as well...that would be the easiest way, and it would benifit them too. :rolling:

    @Caradhras
    Yes, you can use it for Tutu--it's one of my six installs. :) You can tell Shadowkeeper where BG2 lives, so you can use it for any of the installs. You can either set up a copy of Shadowkeeper for every install, or alter the settings when you change from game to game.

    @Kitrax
    The bulk of a BG2 install lies in the CD2, CD3, etc. folders. Using the clone instructions I posted, you share these folders among installs so you only need one copy of them. A full ToB install runs just short of 3 gigs whereas a clone install runs around 1 gig. Once we get the kinks worked out of the Multi-Install Tool clone installs should run less than 100 MB.

    Or you could just paste the save to the repertory where SK works and copy it back when you're done with it? (SK is handy with BGtutu in order to fix some things with the NPCs: e.g. Khalid dual wielding bastard swords...)
    Anyway thanks CamDawg that is very interesting indeed -if I manage to do this I won't have to unistall BG1tutu ever again: GREAT!
