Morning board. I'm having a problem returning to Saradush after completing the quest to stop the onslaught of the town. I went to the mountains, got the hearts, killed the bad guy and his mom but the game doesn't allow me to return to Saradush??????

Also, since I had nowhere else to go, I went on to the Watchers Keep. Everything cool until last level then I hit the wall. The first time I inserted a key I got 5 or 6 baddies that I can't even seem to scratch. By the time I've lost 2 out of my 6 party, I have one of the naties "injured". I buff my evil party of 6 which averages level 20 and throw in a planer or 2 but still get wiped out. Strategy at this point would be greatly welcomed.

I believe you'll never be able to return to Saradush, because the town is blocked off.
As for the Watcherès Keep badies, it's been a while, but I suggest trying to lure a few of them into one of the far rooms. Kill them, then come back for the rest. And don't skimp on using the potions and limited charge items.

 

When you say "the bad guy and his mom," do you mean Yaga Shura? So you entered his war camp and kill him and all his peons? If so, then the movies should have explained to you that Saradush has been utterly destroyed. You can never go back there. If you haven't done this yet, look for an icon of Yaga Shura's war camp on your map. It should be right next to Saradush. That's where you go next.

As for Watchers Keep--you need to name the bad guys that kill you. Is it a team of glowing guys that all look pretty much the same? Or is it a motley crew with demons and a beholder (Ytossi and company)?

If it's Ytossi and company, there are several ways to take on the battle. One is to drop some summons near the demon and beholder, but keep your party off to the east where you can kill Xei Win Toh, the drow, and the archer. Once those three go down, the rest are easier. You can also do it the other way around. At your level, I would not try to split your team up and take them all on at once.

If you really don't like the battle and don't mind a little roquefort, trap the area with skull traps and open the seal. Boom. But it really is a fun battle, and you shouldn't ruin it that way.

 

You're supposed to go to Amkethran next, not return to Saredush, Melissan should appear after your battle with Yaga Shura and tell you where to go.

 

The Ytossi battle at the very end is quite easy if you can separate them. Together, they can tear up a party, but if you take them down one at a time, it's simple. Play through this like the Twisted Rune Battle.

Group your party at the very bottom room of the floor, and move a stealthed rogue(Non-Detection can help here) to twist the key in. When they appear, try to backstab one and lure him to the room. Repeat the strategy for each one.

 

I appreciate the strategies and will give those nasties heck trying them out. I must have been stuffing myself with pizza when I was told that Saradush was destroyed as I really didn't catch that. Oh well, I gave my best to save that town and the only real loss is the mage with most every spell.

 

You have been to the siege camp then and killed Yaga Shura himself and his army? I just want to make sure because the first time I tried to go to Saradush and couldnt because I was supposed to go to the siege camp. Hmm, at least I think that was how it went.

 

Yup, killed that dufus and his witch mother. Expected ticker tape parade upon returning to Saradush but I guess I was too late.

Oh well, find another town to "save"?

 

I guess the reason I was confused (and I think why others were too) is the way you say it. "[K]illed that dufus and his witch mother" makes it sound like you killed Yaga Shura and then his mother, which is not possible. Once it sounds like that, then I started to think that you are mistaking Beren with Yaga Shura, and maybe you didn't kill Yaga Shura at all.

But I'm glad you worked it out. Yeah, you can't save Saradush. On to Amkethran (and don't worry about that store with all the mage scrolls...).
